Okay, now whose a fan of Killer Instinct? I know I am and I was ecstatic when I heard of the Killer Instinct 3 coming soon. However, recent interviews with Rare's Mark Betteridge who hinted towards a KI3 game and said, "I think it's about doing something different than with a conventional controller."

He's referring to possibly using Project Natal technology on the XBOX 360 a.k.a. Motion Controls.

This is a fine example of possibly losing a major chunk of the fan base. Don't get me wrong, motion controls are interesting, but using them in a Fighting franchise does not seem to work. (Unless its Smash Bros. of course) How does one go about using the combos from KI in Motion Controls?

In my opinion Tekken 6 and Street Fighter 4 are both excellent fighting games. You know why? When you find yourself in a small enclosed space like a dorm room you can sit down with a friend and pick up a controller. You don't require much space for the "conventional controller", unlike using Natal technology. Plus if your new (like me) to several fighting franchises like Tekken then a controller is simple enough to learn; I will also go as far as to say that remembering the combos in SNES version of Killer Instinct was challenging enough.

To me this seems like they're using the new highly anticipated Killer Instinct game to bait the fans into Natal technology (which is low).

Rare, how dare you try to rope me in with your Wii knock-offs by promising the opportunity of playing as Sabrewulf on a new generation console.

How dare you.

(Authors Note: Yes this is old news for people who check these forums a little too much. However, since the interview took place on November 30, 2009 then its fairly recent news. So please if you have seen this thread before please don't be pitiful and let those who haven't give their opinion. If you can't then I'm sorry for you. Thank you and Merry Christmas.)

A bit old my friend. But I'm not/nor longing trusting Rare(despite me loving Viva Pinata 1 &2)
Ah yes the "old argument" comment. I know this is old, but considering the interview took place on November 30th, 2009 I'd say it's fairly recent. Besides no one really seems to talk about this. All I see are "MW2: A etc etc?" or "What's your favorite ORIGINAL Pokemon?" on these forums and I wanted to see something a little more interesting.

I wasn't being(or at least trying to) be mean about it. But like I said, I'm not trusting Rare anymore.

Didn't say you were being "mean" I just stated the kind of comment you posted, but I understand your point on no longer trusting Rare. Merry Christmas. :)

Wait, they're messing with Killer Instinct?! Burn them! Burn them to the ground!

......Or, you know, have an option to play with normal controllers.

Eh, motion controls for fighting games... no, no thank you.

Not only would the motions just get awkward, it's more annoying than try to time a button attack just right and catch your opponent off-guard in a button masher.

Ugh, just imagine if they tried doing it for Primal Rage or Bloody Roar.
Those would certainly be an interesting set of controls, to say the least.

Motion controls for a fighting game?
That sounds horrible *cough* Castlevania Judgement *cough*.
I don't even think that would be a selling point to have as an option, those motion controllers should (probably won't) fail.
