Killing a series.

Ok, so I was just browsing facebook when I saw an ad for Death Note L: Change the World. Now normally facebook throws many anime ads my way, which are normally ignored. This one was different though, it wasnt drawn, it was an actual picture. So I clicked the link thinking it might be interesting. Boy was I right, they are making a Death Note movie, I am aware they have already made a Japanese soap out of the series, but now they have moved into movie.
Now, looking at the industry I can see that when animes or games are translated into movies the end result is not usually pretty (see: Dragon Ball Evolution and Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun Lee).
Here is the trailer I saw. It is only showing in select theatres and only twice, but still.

What do you guys think? I know there are quite a few Death Note fans here, and I would like to here your thoughts as well.

Boy was I right, they are making a Death Note movie

There are three Death Note movies. (Death Note, Death Note: The Last Name, and L: Change The World.)

The first one came out before the anime series.
