Killing bugs - is it wrong?

Yep, I feel guilty killing insects. When there is a bug bothering me I go out of my way not to hurt it, though as a last resort I will squash any mosquito keeping me awake at night.

Sometimes my annoyance gets the better of me.

Still, it always makes me sad having to kill a bug.

oh come on everyone rips the legs and stuff of bugs when they are small. my dad ripped the leg of a daddy long leg once just to show me that the leg would still move
Yeah but my crimes against bugs were genocidal. We killed thousands of them.

I try not to kill bugs if possible.

The exception is mosquitoes and ticks. .

1) I don't feel that torturing them is right. Killing is fine, so long as its quick.
2) Any, so long as its quick and painless.
3) Only when the first strike doesn't kill it. But usually I take it outside.

What goes around comes around. One way or another.

So I try to be a decent person to all forms of life.

But I still hate them. Especially flies.

No, it's not wrong, it's natural. If it tries to kill/harm/leech off us, we kill it. I'd kill a puppy if it was trying to rip my throat open, wouldn't you?
No, not if I could easily overpower it and trap it somewhere so it could be rehabilitated. If I were in actual danger, then yeah, kill the fucker.

Okay what you and brother did seems kind of cruel, but I honestly don't care about the welfare of bugs or animals that much. I wouldnt go out of my way to kill some, but they mean very little or nothing to me. So basically it is rarely immoral to kill stuff, so I never feel sorrow for bugs, but just because I dont care about them means I would want to kill them. There is no inclination to do so, therefore I probably wont.
Except for those flying insects that always fly near my face. They deserve to die. And those beetles that always smell really bad and make loud buzzing noises when they fly. They should die.

That's what you get for constantly pestering me, you stupid little-

Oh, excuse me, you were saying...?

Seriously, dude, they're bugs. No reason to torture them, but if they bug the beejesus [http://www.chrisseddon.com/images/portfolio/beejesus-400.gif] out of you, there is no reason to feel bad about swatting them, either.

Insects are kind of interesting in that they are the only animals that are almost universally, unconditionally okay to kill, even if for no reason whatsoever.

I don't go out of my way to kill them, but if they are in my general vicinity, annoying me, or are just fucking creepy, that's it for them.

I don't kill bugs, either. I did some nasty things to them as a kid, too, so I understand the guilt.

I mostly ignore it when other people kill them. I'd like to go out of my way to save the little fuckers, but I hate people's condescending reactions. I try to ignore it, but I still feel bad afterwards.

But tourting them? I don't care that they're just insects, it's still sick. But anyone who finds joy inflicting suffering and pain is just wrong. Myself included, as a kid. I don't stand by for that.

When they come into my room and have the balls to fly around me is when I find it acceptable to kill them. Just don't torture them, I feel bad when I don't kill it swiftly.
Ye pretty much, any flies, moths, mosquitoes, daddy long legs ect that come in my room i make a point of killing. Their fucking annoying. these days i just crush them but when i was younger i used to enjoy slightly more....creative methods of execution. I had many but possibly my personal favorite was mummifying them in super glue.

We can debate this when;
A) People stop killing people
B) People stop killing animals
Until then, the United Nations can declare war on bugs for all I care.
P.S. I'm a bug-o-phobic, so just keep them away from me and I am a happy camper!

I never kill spiders, I find them cute. There are a lot of stink bugs and chafers here, I never hurt them either. On the other hand, cockroaches and mosquitoes probably think I'm Hitler.

Good point, I hadn't loooked at it that way.

The law of nature really isn't it... feel threatened - flee or kill.
