Killing floor Online Advice

i have been trying to play online on killing floor but it doesnt work the problem i have have happened on i think two other steam games, the problem is that when i try to play about 5 to 10 seconds after i join the server EVERY charackter being NPC or human yust walks forward doing nothing else. i know i lose connection but i think its wierd its the same thing happening and im wondering how im supposed to fix it because i really want to play some killing floor.

May I ask if you are behind a router of any kind, or you have a firewall up?

If that game doesn't work but Internet in general works then what's probably happening is something is blocking the port. Windows Firewall often blocks programs from communicating with the net until you "allow" them. Check that first, if no dice there then try finding out what port the games you play use and then see if your ISP or router blocks those ports.
