Is Killing Floor worth getting? I heard loads about it when it first came out, everyone was excited saying how good the mod was, then it just disappeared from my radar and haven't heard anyone talking about it since.

Does this mean it's good for abit, then gets boring? Do lots of people play it? Better or worse than L4D and basically do Escapists recommend it.

I've played it a few times with friends. Its a certainly a very good game but it does have some issues. The game bills itself as a more horror focused version of Left 4 Dead but when your working in a team it removes all the tension so the game can feel like it falls a little bit flat. The most enjoyable experience (if your looking to enjoy the great atmosphere) is single player, but then you miss out on the great 6 player co-op.

From what little I got to play of it I would say its a very nice game but not quite up to the standards of Left 4 Dead (and thus would recommend Left 4 Dead over it).

Already have L4D and still play it often.

About Killing Floor, I seem to have already bought it... online shopping isn't good for me, and Steam doesn't help by shoving me into a store page whenever I load it up.

Steam does tend to do that, god damn impulse buying. But don't worry you'll have a good time with it, providing the community is still there (I can't really tell since I played it about a month ago).

With a team it turns in L4D or WAW zombies, on your own i can barely stand the fear of knowing that i have my back against a door shooting at enemies and at any moment now the others will tear down the door, also the end boss will kick your ass.

its a good game, i dont play regularly but its good for those days your bored shitless, damn steam and impulse buying, i hate online shopping its so tempting :(

The weapons are good, if few, the gameplay mechanics work well, its a decent game worth getting, but the novelty can wear off, i would of prefered it as a side on for a game, but meh.

I think it's way better than L4D, there are more weapons and a lot of mods and maps for it.

It is a pretty hard game (even on normal) so you'll probably want to play it with some friends.

It beats left 4 dead. It was built for the pc instead of the console so it is easy for modders to make new maps and they are already going to be releasing more content in free dlc with a katana, AK, and new map, which is way more than valve has done with their unfinished game. It is also more challenging. You don't have those music cues to let you know when an enemy is coming, they just creep up on you. It is definitely a complete game compared to left 4 dead, but it still kind of gets repetitive and boring after a while. The voice acting is terrible however and of course this is where valve really shines, but even with a paragraph giving a description of their background, killing floor beats out l4d with character back story. Still, the l4d characters are way more lovable and memorable. Final verdict, killing floor is better than l4d.

i always really enjoyed invasion mode in unreal tournament 2004, and killing floor is a really good version of that. The class system and achievements gives you something to do, its always easy to find an open game and usually there are halfway decent players in it. If you want to really do well get a friend or two to play with you, then you dont have to rely on random people.

KF is a pretty fun game. I enjoy it. You'll probably like Killing Floor, it provides some pretty good entertainment for a few weeks at least.

Thank god I'm not the only one! As for the killing floor, I really wasn't all that impressed - I've played Left 4 Dead much more.

I like Killing Floor. It's usually a game played at the LAN parties we do over here, it does very well over LAN. I like it, a lot. As long as you don't go into it thinking it'll be the best game ever or anything, and kind of disregard the horror part (it's not very scary, at least that's what I think), you'll have fun with it.

Got it and played it for about a week. Enemies too similar to provide much variety though. If you can get it for cheaps it's probably worth it.

Well I just bought it and find it a big fat "meh". Seeings as I have CoD:WaW and L4D I don't really need Killing Floor.

It's alright, but from afew hours play I haven't found it spectacular. I'm going to give some mods ago once I've played it alot. I was reading about one with vehicles so that could be good.

Should get me moneys worth at least, it's not expensive. :)
