Killing yourself: Could you do it?

I say this now but have never experienced certain extreme circumstance that the only release is death but have still experienced plenty of personal tragedy in my life but I never once thought of taking my life to make it go away or ease the pain I'd like to think I have the will to go on no matter what.

If it (the situation) is very grim and my chances of surviving are that low i would kill myself. BUT only if it was quick and painless, or at the very least quick. For example a gun would be easy.
Step 1. Point gun to head.
Step 2. Shoot.
Step 3. Profit (well not really)
On the other hand if it was something messy like a knife or two pieces of chalk and a toothbrush, i wouldn't do it. I would be too much of a chicken.

I really don't know. I want to say no giving me at least a chance no matter how small. I think torture would be the only situation I would. Disease, starvation, dehydration, the eradication of all human life(ELE), capture(war pow) no way I'm offing myself.
No there is no way to do it painlessley even a gun to the head isnt as risk-free as youd think

Never. I will never kill myself intentionally. If I do something stupid enough to trigger an instantaneous death I'd deserve it. I hope I will die of natural causes after a long, fulfilling life. I have too much to live for in this world.

Speaking as someone who once contemplated this (I never attempted but I was thinking it) it is not a solution. What it is the cowards way out. Life has consequences. If you force yourself into a corner, you have to fight your way out one way or another. Even if you die fighting your way out of the situation, you still have tried your best.

Really depends on the situation. For example if it'd bring hurt to my loved ones then no I wouldn't, if living would bring pain to my enemies then I'd do that. As I said completly depends. Currently if I had my mind set on suicide I could do it. I don't currently want to but that is another matter.

Hip hip hurrah, because there is no situaion, ever, in which suicide can be used to spare people pain, or spare your loved ones pain, or even spare yourself emmense amounts of pain. Never. Ever. In that scenario I would want to, and I want to say yes. But the human instinct for self-preservation is so strong I don't think I could do it, even if certain horribly painful death was imminent. I'd accept the pain with some totally irrational part of me hoping against hopes.
For example. I'm sure I'll save one bullet for myself in the coming zombie apocalypse. But when the time comes, and I'm surrounded by hundreds of zombies, back to a corner, and rescue by a squad of marines is impossible because they zombies are literally inches from my supple flesh, I'll wuss out and shoot one more zombie in the head and earn a terrible death being eaten alive.
That sucks. Come on future me, be more rational.

Any natural disaster I'll embrace; envelopped by the sea, consumed by fire, struck by lightning or crushed by the earth and any torture, be it removing my nails forcibly or a heated pot with a rat taped to my chest, I'll undergo it with a smile, laughing, begging for more.
Perhaps a long and painful end will give me the knowledge, the clarity to understand the big picture in those last moments of my life. Despite not being able to share that information; if there is a truth and there is a chance to know and understand it, I shall accept the price, any price!

Live on, fight on, strive on. To the bitter end. You never know what would have been if you don't give life the chance to let you see it. If all hope is lost, hope for some hope damnit. And if you die anyway, at least you died trying.
