So, i'd like you to post your thoughts on Killzone 2, I haven't played it but since its mainstream, has sci-fi marines and every tone of grey on the "realistic colour" wheel, i'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say that the story is basically a go there kill aliens, plot twist, more aliens and then one giant alien clusterfuck leading to an end.
Just my thoughts, post yours!

Your probably right, but i like "go there kill that, then go there shoot this", but it needs to be a little nervewrecking though.. Or else i get bored, must not be to easy..

Sometimes, games get hyped because they are good games! Gears of War 2, despite my expectations, turned out to be one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.

I am not going to shoot Killzone 2 down just to keep the 360 Fanboys happy.

On the irst point, I agree. On the second point, we 360 fanboys don't care.

I'd guess that means you aren't a Fanboy - I've met gamers so retarded they directly compared Resistance 2 (a FPS) and Gears 2 (a TPS) as if they were identical games!

Killzone 2 threatens to be yet another PS3 game that will topple the 360's FPS crown. That is reason enough for Fanboys to try and write it off as crap before it even touches the shelves.

Stop being Yahtzee.

On topic I haven't played the game at all so I'll wait untill I do before commenting. But since my friend who has a PS3 isn't going to buy Killzone 2 my playing it is a long way off.

But I will say this, it looks damm nice.

I think you should probably wait, at least until it's out, before you shoot it down in flames. Otherwise you just seem a little fanboyish, if not perhaps a little close minded.

I know, I heard people comparing the 2 and my first thought was "have they even played either?"

We, the PS3 people need this! (j/k). I never played Killzone 1, tried the PSP game and it got a resounding "Meh" from me. I might give it a look a couple of months after release, but unless I hear praise from it, it's going under my radar.

It has a demo out in a few days (or has it already realesd idk),so you should make up your mind with that.As for Killzone 2 and my opinion is that I'd like to play it as it looks sort of fun,but as I do not own a PS3 I am gonna pass.

well you have fun playing your poorly translated glitchy JRPGs on the ps3 then.

killzone 2's going to be one of the biggest games of the year, the online play looks incredible. and they state a certain amount of the gameplay is about fighting the harsh enviroment of the planet your on.

I read another thread that the controls couldn't be customized. This means I will not be buying the game considering the layout mentioned in the thread.

EDIT: BTW does anyone know where to get this keyboard attachment. Want it so bad, keep seeing pictures.

I wouldn't write off a series based on a PSP game of all things... it would be like writing off Nintendo based on the idea that all their games work using LCDs...

With Killzone 2, leave it until its out people before you make any comments on it. As for "Aliens" play the first game and you will see more about what the hell is going on, and it doesn't involves much in the way of Aliens. No I'm not defending it.

I posted this on another KZ2 thread but it seems relevant too here. This is the early critical consensus so far, so you can use this to judge whether or not the game is average or if you'll like it.
Well the early critical consensus goes as...

Mind blowing graphics
Tactical singleplayer, that plays great
But despite the first person cover system, it feels like we've been here before
And there should be more colors
It has a forgettable story
With horrible voice acting

Class based multiplayer, that plays great
With great match types
Ranking up and classes are great fun and provide for countless play styles

But seriously, where's the co-op?
And damn, this game looks good!

Final Score: 9.5/10

I haven't played the game yet; this just seems to be what is the consenus coming out of the reviews, and I don't see that changing when the game actually comes out, unless multiplayer ends up being really buggy like Gears 2.

Again this is not my opinion, it is the opinion of the gaming press, as a unit.

I think this game looks absolutely amazing even though I have an Xbox 360, I really hope this game is decent, then I might just have to get a PS3 as well!

The graphics are fantastic, lets hope the A.I isn't a pile of crap though.
OP needs to watch less Zero Punctuation...

It looks quite good, but looks can be deceptive. The first Killzone wasn't all that great.

I predict a hit or miss scenario, the visuals in the game look good from where Im standing but from what I'm seeing here the gameplay looks pretty generic.
But the wonderful thing about gameplay Is you have to play the game in order to understand it, so I'll reserve judgment until I get my hands on it.

Edit: I Just watched a few more reviews and I don't see them pointing out any groundbreaking advancement, In singleplayer or multiplayer(cover system?). It looks like a highly polished game that is good at what it does but isn't necessarily pushing the envelope on creativity. The gameplay seems like it works, but the man at "X-Play" said there was some latency in controls, and smoothness problems. What Im seeing here is the crysis effect, tried and true elements, put into a good game and highly polished but with a few mechanical flaws. If this game succeeds then I predict even more stick then halo got for "Unoriginality".

But I do need to finish my time machine so I can go into the future and find out what its really like.

Judging from the gameplay and review videos, Killzone 2 could be "my" new CoD4. Both games have really good (in this case awesome) graphics, try to make use of a more realistic feel for weapons and character movements and have a short but intense campaign.
And then there is a class based multiplayer mode with unlockable weapons and perks, which made CoD4 so popular, and might just aswell do so for Killzone 2.

Short things short, i'm looking forward to the release (and demo ofc :D)

Y'know... Killzone 1 threatened to be a PS2 game that would topple the Xbox's FPS crown. Just... Just wanted to point that out.

I'm surprised so many people care about all this Killzone 2 hype after the first one. I mean, it'll be great if it's a fantastic game, but... How did it manage to get so many high expectations?

I played killzone 1 briefly, and found it to be total ass, but that says literally nothing about the next game....
