Killzone 2 Demo went live...

I believe you have to preorder Killzone 2 at Gamestop to access the demo. Then around a day or two from the launch there should be a public demo.

Atleast, that's what I've been told.

Oh poo. Oh well, I can't wait another 22 days to buy the actual game.

Or Best Buy I saw one of those empty cases that promoted a demo. I'm just hoping to hear how severely it's been overhyped.

My impressions from the Killzone 2 demo is that the controls feel clunky and the layout is not nearly as good as Call of Duty 4s.

The cover mechanic stinks. The enemies seem to have more life than you. The sound is awful. And it feels very chaotic, which in combination with the poor sound makes for one very confusing game. I just hope the full game will be better.

Even though it may sound like it's the worst game ever, it's not, it's a decent shooter, but nothing more. Maybe the online will make up for it...

Edit: Even though the enemies seem to have more life than you they're still easy to kill, it just takes a bit longer to get them down.

Were you playing the right demo.
If you change the controls then they HAVE THE COD4 CONTROLS.
Im guessing that by "the enemies have more life than you" you died a lot and got few kills. I took down a Helghan with 2 short bursts to the chest and then got hit roughly 8 times before I had to get behind cover.

As for the sound, it perfectly fits the scene, explosions, shouting, bullets slamming into the ground. I spend about 20 minutes slamming bullets into different materials so I could see what sound it made, its perfect. I could even hear the different sounds of the different weapons.

i never thought halo was good. i had to stop playing halo halfway through because the combat was so boring and frustrating. what halo did, however, was to kick start the onslaught of bad games for consoles, much more than anything else. to me, games like halo, killzone, gears of war, resistance and all other equally bad titles can burn in hell for all that i care.

come to think of it, halo did the same thing for the fps console games that world of warcraft did for mmo gaming: it ruined the genre, and now everyone wants to copy it because they believe it's the only way to success. urgh, the fools.

I never died... Except by my own grenades.

Also the controls are slightly different from the CoD 4 controls. And aiming is a bit weird.
And I have, after playing the demo some more, changed my mind about some of the things I said.
Also the game looks incredible

Hahaha try killing off your squad with the knife and they go berserk and start shooting at you.
Also instead of going through the door where the demo ends, hang around a bit and youll notice some Helghan troops try to sneak up on you.
