Why does everyone seem to hate Killzone 2? I peosonaly thought it was an extreemly polished decent FPS the Ai was ok and the missions dident seem too bad. To bosses where annoying though inventive. The random poping up of enemies was a bit annoying but overall I had a enjoyuable experience.

My friend suggested I buy it, I think I'll borrow it off someone who has it on PS3 first and see if it's any good.

Its hated due to hype - fanboy's hailed it as the next Golden Eye, when it fact it was Halo 3. A good looking, functional shooter that has little innovation.

I didn't like it because of an awkward control scheme, bland and uninteresting characters (like most sci-fi and FPS in general), the environments were boring, the core mechanics weren't far as good as CoD4 and I just couldn't play through the campaign without getting bored to tears.

Plus, the color palette is as limited as Gears of War, though people didn't whine about it as much as they did with GeoW.

I think it was a victim of its own hype to some extent. It's a decent game, very pretty and at least wasn't a parallel development so it gets to flex the muscle of the PS3 a bit more than some.
I found it enjoyable but not ground breaking. Worth the money, but I doubt I will be playing it in 12 months.

The problem comes with the dissapointment people feel when they are sold something as "The best game you will ever play, ever" and then find the experience too short and not inventive enough. It's that feeling of being ripped off that makes people spew bile all over the internet.

I just ignore the hype, read some balanced reviews and find the game as cheap as I can, knowing that I can probably sell it on at minimal loss if I don't like it. No point getting bitter and starting your own little internet war about it. It's not like it stole your car or slept with your mum or anything....

It's a good game and people who hate it ususally have never played it so it really dosen't matter as long as you like it

Yeah that makes sense, but I have heard people slaughter it for being so bland, in my opinion it had a bland wepon section but it had an interesting story rather than another way to present WW2. or maybe thats what it is... I don't know.

I have an XBox, so I haven't tried it, or do I 'hate' it. I think people dislike it because it was so hyped up, then turned out to be a future FPS with good graphics. Just nothing special I suppose.

I don't have a PS3, but I don't want it. Or any shooter with an online focus really. Competitive gaming just results in a bunch of people screaming at each other or complaining when they die (See CoD4 and people always complaining about Juggernaut).

My Cardinal Rule: Would this game still be fun if I lost my internet connection?

The campaign looked interesting, but after playing, and disliking, the original Killzone, its hard to get pumped for the sequel.

It still looks to have great online versus play, though. If you're into that stuff.

It is a good game, but it is very samey. Nothing ground breaking. The visuals are stunning, could be the best looking game I've ever seen. But that gets coupled with a bad control mechanic (for me anyway, no matter how sensitive I made the controls they always felt sluggish to me). It simply didn't have anything new to offer. I personally find COD4 a much better FPS.

Killzone 2 was very much overhyped, so when it was released, people were let down. Including myself.

It was all very much "samey" as was already stated.
