People defending the game keep saying the its the controls people have problems with, like I've said a million fucking times to others its not the controls we have problems with,It's GAMEPLAY.
Wrong. You have problems with the gameplay. Doesn't mean that others feel the same way.

I never really had a problem withe the gameplay.
The controles were fine, the gameplay was fine. Not amazing, just good.

It takes a while to get used to, but it is a good game.
Most people overexaggerate the problems with the game, making it sound worse than it actually is.

I'd recommend you rent it, like you should do with all games with monumental amounts of hype.

I refuse to play a game with controls designed by morons (Go search for my Killzone 2 thread if you want to know why I say this.), until I hear that they fixed the problem I have with the controls I will not play Killzone 2. I have much more fun with Resistance 2 (Which has an identity problem.) because I don't have to deal with bullshit button assignments.

It plays well once you adjust the control settings, but it maybe a better idea if you wait for COD:MW2.

It is a rent, if for the visuals alone.

Yes the controls are like you are trying to use your dual shock while it is coated in apple sauce... slugish. The gameplay is as generic as it gets, but if you are a shooter fan, I guess that might be your cup of tea. I am getting a little tired of FPS's not allowing you to carry more guns, and this game is the worst one of the group. You only get to carry one gun and your pistol, that pissed me off more than anything else. At lease let me carry and AR and and sniper...

Combat is "realistic", which means the aiming is somewhat of a pain. Supposedly there will be an update to fix this eventually, not sure when though...

It takes a while to get used to, especially if you play Halo or COD4. The game itself was.... Alright, I guess. Characters were thoroughly unlikeable and said "fuck" every 5 seconds or so, and the last mission is basically nothing but a grind-fest. Along with that, all the guns that I liked were replaced with an overpowered, incredibly inaccurate machine gun, which requires you to fire in bursts of maybe 1 or 2 shots. Online isn't bad, again the controls are a pain, but it can be fun to play. On top of all that, it has bots, which are nice to practice against or just play with. The leveling up is also a bit annoying, since you don't seem to get any experience if you leave a game. And games CAN take as long as an hour to complete.

Overall, at it's best, the game is fun. At it's worst, it's an immature shooter with bad controls, boring story mode, incredibly annoying boss battles, and a severe potty mouth. 7/10

*EDIT* The graphics are quite pretty, though.

It is just a general FPS that doesn't add anything new, yet doesn't take away from the FPS experience. Sure the game play is awkward at first, but like every game you learn to deal with it's quirks.

i ust to have the odd seasion on killzone now and again when my brother ust to live with me the combat did feel arkwood but i think the main reason for that was because ive gotten so ust to the xbox 360 controlls that anything else feels alien to me.

i didnt do to bad on the game manege to get a thew kills in per life what i can say was alot better than when i first started playing cod4 so i think that the game play once u get ust to the actaull feel of controlls u will be blazing away but if u coming straight from a ps2 then i dont think u will have any trouble.

I find Killzone 2 really funny. But not something I could keep playing for more then 4 hours. The controls are fine if you put it to ulternative 2 controls (then it plays like COD4.)

Personally, the game would have been tops on my list if it wast for the HORRIBLE control. It feels slow and inaccurate, and god help you if you have to react to something quickly.

The single-player was pretty good, in fact it was one of the my favorite campaign modes since Call of Duty 2, but the online really didn't last long. There were only a few weapons that weren't branded "gay", "cheap", or "retarded" as soon as I killed one guy with them. And for some reason all the other players seemed to take the game way to seriously. If you can only buy one game, I strongly suggest Resistance 2.

A quick question regarding Killzone 2. I'm getting a PS3 and Killzone 2 is definitely one of the games I want to get. However, I've been watching some videos about the gameplay and the combat seems a bit awkward to me. Is this the case? And also post your own impressions about the game

Honestly I liked Killzone 1 a lot better. The weapons were versatile and unique. When I heard they took out all the secondary functions of the weapons they essentially killed my excitement for the game and any chance of getting a PS3 for it. I love KZ1's Helghast Assault Rifle. I mean comon, it has a freakin shotgun as a standard issue secondary fire!
