-The game apparently includes jetpacks, which are described as "surprisingly lightweight and agile." Also, jetpack is easier to maneuver compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games."

-The game will support 3D, and the 3D will apparently be a ?Game Changer."

-The combat is "unchanged from predecessor,? except for the addition of hand-to-hand abilities that have you ?Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."

-The overall feel will be that ?of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."

sounds pretty cool, expect before someone goes, "oh they have jetpacks now becuase of Halo: Reach, I have heard that in Killzone: Liberation for the psp, it had jetpacks at parts.

I should really pick up the second game, so that I can get ready for this one. It sounds good so far.

Um, the best jetpack was in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Halo's jetpack, dark void's jetpack, Red Faction's jetpack, etc suck in comparison to that. I mean, they hit their high point half a decade ago, what's with all the sudden hype for them?

I mean, they get nerf'd pretty hard in these games anyway, and it's not like Halo or whatever is going to use them in a really cool or original way.

I cannot really say anything about the game itself - don't have a PS3. But i do hope that now, with the appearances of Halo: Reach and Killzone 3, jetpacks will become increasingly popular in games.

Which one - clone commandos' jetpacks or Dark Troopers' jump jets? Because i never could handle the latter well.

Huh funny there was a killzone 2 thread not to long ago. With my experience with jet packs they are fun but not very useful when your enemy can point upwards and you aren't fly forwards with wild abandon. Also it's in 3d? Hasn't it always? Or do you mean red and blue glasses 3d cause if it's that one I'm going to be most distgusted. Never heard of game changer the generic name doesn't fill me with confidence either.

I wonder how the jetpack will control and how imbalanced it will be for online.

Reach has turned the Spartans into Imperial Dark Troopers. Jetpacks and rolling will be very natural to SW:BF players.

Will Killzone 3 have a story and voice-acting that don't make me cringe? Some decent controls wouldn't be bad either.

Seriously, the second game was good and all, great animations, beautiful graphics, interesting AI and combat, but truth be told, the story and voice-acting were rubbish, and the controls could definitely use some work. Before innovating with "jetpacks" and "3D" maybe they should fix the problems with the second game, I mean, jetpacks are great and all, but if you have shitty controls, the jetpacks won't handle any better, and no matter how 3D a game is, few people have 3D TVs (many don't even have HDTVs yet), so a better why to draw people in is story, relatable characters, and hiring some voice-actors that don't all sound like complete douchebags.

Once these things are done, new changes and improvements will be frosting on top of cake, but until then, no matter how beautiful or 3 dimensional they make the game, it'll still be lacking.
you know you could change the controls?

I'm excited. Though i wish i could have played the first game(i was a poor little highschooler back then and i can't find it now)the second game was pretty much everything i had been looking for in shooter, though short.

As for the voice acting i actually liked it. As cheesy as parts of it were i felt myself actually believing that this guys were friends. Some of the "WOOOO!" moments were painful like when they were dropping onto the planet at the beginning. I actually enjoyed the conversations they would throw at each other back and forth. It felt real. The idea of the third game being announced is really cool for me.

Of course it uses 3D technology. Ya know. Something None of us freaking have.
