Oh my. Tragic. Poor console developers will actually have to bother with their games post-production. It's about damn time that they start worrying about their games past the first week of release and maybe working on not just eliminating cheaters but also improving the core gameplay through said patches while they already have to fix the coding.
Console developers already do that for a lot of games, this means time and effort that could be used getting rid of problems in gameplay is now going towards stopping cheaters.
If the updates are for future map-packs and downloadable content, that'd be cool. If it's just a regular update every other week for security, I doubt most people would be so hot about it.
Even then - it still means people keep working to improve a product for you, without expecting further payment. Complaining about that strikes me as complaining about free food, because it takes soooo long to eat.
Towards Guerrilla Games: Thanks for making sure the game is cheater free, even if it means I have to keep downloading patches while I'm still busy with the single player portion.
Towards Sony: This is all your fault you dunces. Yet again, "thanks" for that "increased security" you gave us all when you removed Install Other OS. The least you could do to compensate for screwing us with your stupidity is get some faster servers for us so these updates don't take forever to download (somebody would say "it's just MB of data" which is normally fine, but in Sony land, MB of data feels like GB of data).
Towards Cheaters:
And to finish it off...
So I'll be thankful to GG for not leaving us in a lawless jungle full of cheaters, and direct my scorn at the people who really caused this. I see no reason why I can't be grateful to GG for keeping the game as clean as they can and complain about the douchebags who cause this to require lots of patches at the same time.
sounds expensive. I hate the idea that some poor game developer is going to be stuck with keeping hackers at bay instead of moving onto their next project...
I got a possible solution. Wait for hackers to post their vids online, track the matches by those player names you see on the vids and ban the fuckers?
