[http://popugamer.com/review/?id=740]Pros: First I'll say that I look at Kinect Adventures as sort of a companion game, not really a full game by itself. The game comes bundled with the Kinect, and there are certain expectations that are set for a hardware companion game. Think about Duck Hunt back in the day... great game right? Right, and I think most people loved it for the novelty of using the Nintendo Zapper light gun. Duck Hunt wasn't a full game by itself. It was a companion game, just like Kinect Adventures is. That doesn't take anything away from the value of the game, though. We've just got to set our expectations differently.

In terms of pros, Kinect Adventures does a great job showing off what you can do with the Kinect. There are various mini-games -- you can ride down a river on a raft, plug leaks in a submerged glass tank, collect bubbles in a space environment (no gravity!), play a handball-type game, or run through an obstacle course. All of these games show differing aspects of Kinect ability, which is great! You really get a sense of what awesome games they'll come out with next.

These games are all quite fun, and super easy to learn. They actually give you a bit of a workout too, especially as you move on to the "Advanced" level. I'll admit to using this game as my workout regimen for the day!

Another good point about Adventures is the extra stuff they built in. While you're playing each game, the Kinect will snap pictures of you -- trust me, these photos come out HILARIOUS. At the end of the game you have the option of uploading them to the kinectshare.com website, from which you can upload to Facebook! It's a neat idea, and it's kind of fun showing your friends how ridiculous you look :)

All in all, this is an entertaining and active game, and serves as a great introduction to the Kinect.

Cons: Yes, this game lacks depth. But... was that really what you were expecting? How "deep" was Duck Hunt?? Kinect Adventures has 5 mini-games that you kind of play over and over again, with the difficulty increasing as you advance. This might get boring or repetitive for some, but it's pretty much what I expected from a hardware companion game. I'll admit that for me, there's not a ton of quality replay value here, especially since there are so many other better games on Kinect, but as an intro game, it's great. And it's an awesome game for kids.
