Found out about the release date too late, now it won't arrive until after the weekend.

I'm real jealous right now.

But oh well, I'm looking forward to replaying the first one, it's been a few years now.
Also it's nice that I'll be able to catch up on some of the hand held shenanigans thanks to this and 2.5 when that comes out.

Inasmuch as I'm a Kingdom Hearts fan (actually it ended with KH2, but whatevs), I'm also a fan of not paying for the same game twice. So no, won't be getting it.

Final Mix isn't the same game though and was only released in Japan, unless you already owned the Final Mix game then it makes sense for that.

OT: I have a question that hopefully someone can answer for me. When you are locked onto an enemy and hit Triangle, do Donald and Goofy attack that enemy? That's a problem that the Japanese HD 1.5 has in that it makes farming the Pink Agaricus almost impossible to do unless you trap Donald and Goofy behind something because every time you hit it the combo goes up, but every time they hit it the combo goes down. This is a problem mainly because you get a special, albeit crappy, item when you hit the Pink Agaricus 100 times and with the bug being in the Japanese version it makes it near impossible to get 100 hits I'm afraid.

Love how you posted that video after I was referring to the bug that is in that video. XD
Anyway, it does suck that they didn't fix that, but I don't fault them too much since the Japanese version had to have a lot more work because remember that Final Mix was always Japanese exclusive with English voice acting. Square was lazy in certain aspects *cough*Re: CoM HD*cough* but that was really one of the main things.

The one thing I don't like about that video is the complaints about battles not being made into cutscenes, which while it does suck, I see it that they just remade the cutscenes that were in the actual game.

From what I heard it adds a bunch of bonus content like synthesis items, a couple of boss fights and a new enemy type / palette swaps. There was a time when I would've bought it just because I wanted more of Kingdom Hearts and I didn't own any of the handheld consoles they were releasing their games on. But nowadays it just seems pointless. Also I replayed the original game not very long ago, so I'm good for the next 3 or 4 years.

Don't worry, it's a problem that the original Final Mix on the PS2 had as well because the difficulty curve closes pretty quickly on Final Mix Proud. You also have to remember that the Heartless are doing x2 damage to you on Final Mix Proud as well. Really if you were to just get to level 25 you could be fine, Agrabah is kinda a pain, but once Air Soldiers and Search Ghosts show up then you can farm a lot.
Woo, beat him first try on Lvl 21. Didn't notice his canon doing that much damage though. I remember getting hit twice and surviving (no heals in between). Weird *shrugs*. Though the difficulty seemed to be evening out after about halfway through Agrabah (though Jafar is piss easy no matter what).

Well I do have the tendency to over level on things. For example, I was Level 21 when I left Destiny Island. XD

Just cleared Deep Jungle(took me a walkthough to get unstuck on a part) and got back to Traverse Town. WTF at Merlin & the Fairy Godmother... I can summon Simba? 0_0

Oh, and when do I unlock the 2nd floor of the accessory shop?

Once you learn the Green Trinity (after going through Agrabah), then you can access the second floor of the Accessory Shop...

Pretty simple, since you're not THAT far away from achieving it story-wise... Also, in my opinion, summoning Simba is good way of managing crowd-control in terms of heartless encounters...

OT: Note to self: Despite that I suck at speedrunning in general, getting the Speedster Trophy alongside the Undefeated and the Unchanging Armor Trophy was worth the 10 full hours being underleveled... Probably could not do THAT again, but it still feels satisfying either way...

when i first got kingdom hearts back in the day, I really wanted to like it, but the terrible combat, awkward platforming and and cringey tween anime splot devices really put me off, and ruined a lot of the tings the game did really well, like the world building, presentation and pacing.

sadly I dont think the 1.5 remix is going to change much of any of that, so I probably wont be buying it.
