Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Announced

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD has been announced by S.E. today


Seems it will include;

- Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
- Birth By Sleep Final Mix
- Cinematic Cut scenes of Re:Coded (similar to 358/2 Days in 1.5 HD)

I for one am stoked about finally getting to play the Final Mix versions of 2 and BBS (not as excited about Coded, it is easily my least favorite of the series). It's due for release in 2014 for the PS3.

What do you guys think? I haven't seen a thread for this yet so I thought I'd make one.

Great! I've already played KH2:FM with an emulator and a fan patch for the menus. Would love to be able to play it properly, along with BBS:FM which I've never played.

I just hope they make a PS3 version of KH3D.. no friends with 3DS and no will to buy one for anything else has made me really sad.

It's not really surprising that they went that way, but I still wonder how they're going to make the Coded movie. It's nowhere near as important or story heavy as Days. Still, glad to see I'll be bale to play BBS without destroying my PSP's already damaged Square button. Maybe I'll even manage to beat MF, too.

Awww, they should've just added the whole game!

It has one of my favorite level up systems, and the combat is great!

Then again, I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes 358/2 Days for more than just the story, and prefers the original CoM over the remake, so make of that hwat you will.

Anyways, this makes me want to get a PS3 much, much more than 1.5 because of Birth By Sleep. That and Dream Drop Distance are the only two I haven't played. If I had the money, I'd get a cheap PSP and play it, but it being the Final Mix version makes me want this all the more, and while I would love to play 2 Final Mix, BBS Final Mix is what interests me the most.

Nice. Still need to get Kingdom Hearts 1.5, but this is definitely something to look forward to.

I also echo the statements about Recoded being a cutscene. I mean, I sort of expected this, but really? Recoded has the most unimportant plot in the entire series. You could seriously skip it and nothing of value would be lost. The gameplay was the one saving grace of it.

Yay, looks like I wasted my money importing all those games again. This time I'm not as angry though because I knew 2.5 has been coming and what it would contain for like months now.

This was to be expected I guess but it's still great to hear it officially.

I've just recently finished Kingdom Hearts on 1.5 and it truly was the great nostalgia trip I expected it to be. Lots of fun. I'm currently checking out Chain of Memories which is interesting as I've never played any of the handheld or peripheral Kingdom Hearts games before.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 has that magical feeling I've only rarely seen in videogames. I wish Square would get out of the dumps they are in; it's sad to see someone who made a jewel of a game so in financial trouble.

Getting even more hyped for Kingdom Hearts III. I wish my PS2 didn't get lost back when I was 10.

Interestingly I just started KH 1.5 this evening after borrowing from a friend so I can't say whether or not I'll be buying this. As someone who is all for games being re-released in HD for those who didn't play them before, I say YAY! on principle.

It was a completely unsurprising announcement, but I'm really happy nonetheless. Since I know Tetsuya Nomura likes to have yearly KH game releases, and since 2.5 comes out next year, we can slate KH3 to come out in 2015.

Awesome. I've been wanting to play Birth by Sleep, but I lost my PSP.

I had an awesome time with KH 1.5

Chain of Memories so far, I kinda dislike it. I don't really like the card based system, and it's kinda boring going through worlds from the first game again.

The cutscenes in between worlds are nice though.

As of now though, I sorta rage quitted on the last floor. I should probably get back to it soon so I can finish it up at least.

I know what you mean - I emulated C.o.M. on my PC and got all the way to the final boss but he wiped me out every time, despite my Sora being lvl70 0.0 It seems Re:CoM doesn't have that problem, I saw a youtube vid of someone doing it at lvl50 and it didn't look too hard

As for the card-based system; yeah it sucks big time. But the darker plot made it the whole thing a lot more interesting!
