Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV Will Have to Wait

Kingdom Hearts fans have been waiting for the conclusion to the Xehanort saga as well as answers to dozens of questions, but fans are going to have to keep on waiting.

I think Kingdom Hearts III was literally the one title that would've enticed me to purchase a PS4. But no, don't worry Sony, if you dont WANT my money, I'll keep a hold on it.

Wait. What? How does this have anything to do with Sony? They aren't the ones developing the game. That's Square-Enix.

Honestly, this comment mystifies me. I'm almost convinced it's not serious.

Guys, this isn't news. They announced this well over six years ago. The president said this, company reps said this, and Nomura said this. Why do you think it's taking so long? He can only work on so much at a time, and FF15 has been absorbing his attention for the entire generation. Is it right that it has taken this long to produce a single title? No, but Square Enix already made all this information clear a LONG time ago. This isn't anything we didn't already know.

When did this become news? The Wikipedia page for Kingdom hearts 3 has said this for months. I checked it a bit before E3 and it essentially said; 'the director of the series is working on another project, so basically nothing has been done yet.'

I wasn't expecting it for a few years at least anyway, I've waited for a long time, I can wait even longer. Though this long wait is taking a toll on my love of the series, I need closure Square!

On the other hand, if they make it the best they can, it will probably be worth it...right?

Apparently after 7 games and a bunch of secretive ports they're only working on "the 3rd part." Seriously, they're worse than AssCreed in this regard, just below the likes of 'Call of Duty 7: PostModern Warfare 6, The Third One.'

Well, at least KH doesn't ACTUALLY fall into the "release-a-game-a-year" status, although it has come close a few times...

Every single time they release a new game they first tease it being the 'next major installment' in the series, leading everyone to think that is it KH3. They then proceed to create a new game for a device no one currently has and call it a necessary part of the story. Fans are obviously confused and ask about KH3. Square's response has always been incredibly squeemish (like Gabe Newell/Valve is with Half life 3). This has been happening since 2007.

With that said, I can't wait for two more "unnamed" KH games to come out for the Vita and Xbox One before KH3 gets an actual release date...[footnote]Eh... It could happen... But, still...[/footnote]

The KH game on the Vita would be the side prequel to KH3, where you play as Kairi (and sometimes Lea) during another Mark of Mastery exam... It would feature flashbacks of Kairi that have never been seen before, giving you more of a deep character background for this Keyblade Master-in-training... (If you had tears during Roxas and Xion's connected story, then you're going to need a bucket because your tissues would not handle the FEELS..)

The KH game for the Xbox One would not only be an HD collection, but would have ALL the playable KH games in "SUPER" HD, with a "BETTER" cinematic movie that ties in all loose ends to all of the now-unplayable KH games leading up to KH3... with an added playable teaser to FFXV... (I guess... I wouldn't know... I still wouldn't have an Xbox One by then, anyway...)

The game numbering rant:
There's the first Kingdom Hearts, but that is really #2, KH CoM is actually #4 as it starts after the end of 1, KH2 is actually #5, Coded takes place at roughly the same time as 2 so it's #6, 358/2 starts during the end of 1 so it's #3, BBS is actually the first part of the series so #1, and DDD actually is the latest at #7. Calling it KH3 'makes sense' because there is no '3' yet, but it is really #8.

..And then, that leads to a problem I have with this series that I REALLY REALLY like... It feels weird playing it in their canon timeline order... It actually feels better playing them all (including both versions of Chain of Memories) in the order they were first released, though it's kinda too late for the GBA... and DS(?)... and PSP(?)[footnote]Probably not, but still...[/footnote]

OT: Yeah, sure... I can wait... I can put another "Countdown to 3" timer next to my Half-Life "Countdown to 3" timer... Let the predicable race begin on which game will come first... I would place my bets, but I don't like gambling... So, I'll just get back to re-beating 1.5's Final Mix... (I also wish luck to FFXV... I do hope they get their full priorities check before they trip over someone's shoelace... We don't want to have more delays on our hands now...)

Oh yeah... Almost forgot about Volume 2... (despite still remembering all of the BbS Final Mix cutscenes, that secret ending, and that one boss fight that happens in the Realm of Darkness...) That might also add in a cutscene involving Kairi or something, so my "trying-to-be-internet-sarcastic" involving a KH Vita game might of had some barring... if not none...

Maybe 2.5 would answer this "Volume 2" situation... *pauses* Huh... Adding more wait to the KH waiting list? I don't know... Maybe they'll turn Volume 2 into something that's integrated into KH3... Probably a stretch, but still...

I love how people are raging over something that has been known for years lol.

Square already said that FFXV (or Versus XIII) comes first. KH has to wait until that game is finished.

And for the people that are saying that Square announced KH3 for the PS3, Hahahaha! Umm... no, the E3 2013 trailer was THE FIRST TIME Square acknowledged that they are actually working on KH3 currently. There was never any kind of announcement for KH3 for the PS3 (Trust me! I looked.... desperately!).

There were plenty of people ASSUMING it would come out for the PS3, but it was never confirmed. Just like people assumed that that Birth By Sleep trailer at the end of KH2 was the trailer for KH3.

The only thing I can say is, I hope it was worth the wait. For these games to have taken this long, Square had better bring their A game. Because if they made us wait 7 years for anything less than excellent, well.... let's just say that might be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I have no problem waiting for a truly excellent game. It's waiting this long for a sub-par game that would really tick me off.
