Kingdom Hearts III is Coming This Year, Claims Goofy Himself

I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves. I don't want to wait until 2018 until I finally get to play a game I know will in no way live up to the hype surrounding it after how weird Dream Drop Distance got, but I would rather Square take it's time with this one - it's a main entry in the series, not one of those side games they're churning out to take advantage of their fans' good will (although Birth by Sleep is my favorite entry so far), so they should take their time. I'm hoping this game will be the finale, since they've pretty much stretched the story as far as it can go.

The problem is I totally COULD see them rushing to get it out this year. Squinix needs to get a flagship title out on the new-gen consoles and they know it. For my part, I don't mind waiting longer. It's been nearly ten years since Kingdom Hearts II. I'd be fine with waiting until 2016.

Anyone feel like 2015 is too soon? Especially considering they switched over to a different engine within the last year or 2? Or am I not getting my facts straight? I want this game to come out. I just don't want it to launch in a poor condition or quality like a majority of big titles did last year.

Also is 2015 not kinda too early? How long did it take to make KH1, 2, BBS or 3DS?

Eh, the fact the we haven't seen a trailer since E3 2013 makes me skeptical about KH3 being released this year. Plus you also have Final Fantasy XV which will most likely be released in the latter half of this year. I doubt that SE will release two of their biggest franchises with less than half a year separating the two.

There's been a KH release every year, so 2015 sounds exactly right (with 1.5 and 2.5 filling out the quota for 2013 and 2014).

I want to believe, but I won't until it is truly confirmed. If it is coming this year, I just hope it won't be rushed. We've waited for so long, I could wait another year if it will make the game better.

I'm torn. On the one hand - I'm hella excited for it to finally come out and play it.

On the other hand, I highly doubt I can afford a PS4 this year! I was hoping to not have to get one until next year (since I still have plenty of PS3 games to keep me occupied). Hell, I still haven't played KH 3D yet due to a lack of a 3DS or funds to get one! I've somehow managed to avoid any and all spoilers for 3D but this will be a much bigger deal so it'll likely be a lot more difficult this time.

Other than that - I'm hoping for lots of brand new worlds. Tangled, Frozen, Wreck-it-Ralph, Big Hero 6. They don't even have to be new Disney movies - just new KH worlds. I'd welcome Pochahontas or The Jungle Book with open arms. I'm just seriously getting tired of Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah and Neverland.
