the kitten is black and white, male and super cute(in a totally manly way).
Any and all suggestions appreciated. Gaming references get bonus points.

Pi.
My auntie named a cat "pye" after pyewacket, but when I first heard it I though it as "pi" so I have been calling the cat that since.
So that is my suggestion.

Why not just naming it "Cutie" ?

I wanted to name my kitten Dante but my parents didn't like it.

I think it would make a great kitten name though, especially if they have an attitude.

Or if you feel like tempting fate: "Lucky"
i love both of those but my brother is campaigning for meowth.
But if you called it Schrodinger, you would spread so much knowledge about quantum physics whenever someone asks what the hell your cat's name means.

It also makes a good litmus test for how academic someone is.

Good suggestions! Although technically if he feels like tempting fate it should be called "Carmine".
Thats not tempting fate, thats turning around and shaking your ass with a piece of bacon between your butt cheeks.

I would never treat bacon in such a disrespectful manner!

Roslin, after Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica. I think its neutral enough to be a male kitten's name too. Its not gamey, but it is nerdy.

Edit: Holy crap I just noticed, your avatar is what my mobile phone's background used to be before I gave up on that kind of technology. Except mine moved.
no one ever called

Hrm... black and white. If its a tuxedo cat IE: predominantly black with white chest and paws. I would go for tux. Its not a gaming reference, but references technology by refering to the mascot of Linux, Tux the penguin.

I prefer to go with more formal names for cats and even based on things like mythos. I have had a stratus, Cyrus, Isis, Graymalkin, I had two siamese, a male and female named Syd and Nancy respectively. Now I have a Cabot.. which arose from his large ears, and him looking like a cat-rabbit and cabot being the proper spelling instead of a portmanteau.

Thing is... I think your best bet is to see the cats persona evolve, then name it something that fits.

Well the cat would be doing it anyway!

So if you called it Satan it would suit it...

Or Dog, because I heard dogs do those sorts of things.
