Kittens are only defeated by ponies in awesomeness.

Actually, I'm working on a theory of "All animals are ninja, especially cats/kittens." The only exception I've found has been the "fat cat," so to speak; they are berserkers, not ninja. they're all like waddling along or flowing or whatever and then "OMG FOOD FOOD FOOD!!" and you'd best get out o' their way.

I actually have several picture proofs, if anyone wants to see them.

Cats = Diabolical masterminds who are constantly plotting to kill you while you sleep if you should ever stop giving them the free food.
That's why we love them!

My stance on kittens is this:

They may be cute, but find me one story of a dog that started to eat its' owner after it died. Can't? Me neither.

Also, I'd like to point out that the obvious story of a cat (actually, there were multiple) eating it's owner that the above statement alludes to... Yeah, when they found the dead owner, the cats still had food left in their bowl. The owner just tasted so good.
To be fair, have you ever tasted a person? Like, one that lives in a house and has proper hygiene? They are pretty delicious.

And let's not forget that dogs have been known to eat people who are slightly less than dead. Albeit if they do that then they're probably guard dogs or were very mistreated, but still. I can always take a pet cat in a fight; pet dog, not so easy.

Exactly, so a dog is better protection, too. Also, saying "guard dogs or very mistreated" would be akin to saying "wild".

Guard dogs have more-or-less the temperament of wolves. Basically, unless you're the person they protect, you have to move extremely slowly, give them a wide berth, and be sure to let them see everything you do. Which is exactly how I'd behave around a wolf (running is a pretty dumb thing to do around either of them. >.>).

I have to say, I prefer dogs (and puppies) to kittens and cats.
Cats seem like the sort of animal that would sell you out to the police for a bowl of food. Dogs come across as being more loyal.
