I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet but there are cat doors you can buy and install that come with a collar that opens the door when the cat is near it, meaning only your cat could open the door. The neighbor cat is just out of luck.

There's a neat electronic cat flap thing I've heard of where you can get an attachment for your cat's collar to open the door, and the door only opens for this electronic tag thing, so your cat can get in but the other one can't (unless it steals your cat's collar....)

...get a dog?

Also, if it's an 'outdoor' cat, then why does it need to come inside? Doesn't it live outside?

That is actually the first suggestion that I might be able to work with. The only problem is that in the past my cat has managed to remove bells from her collar when my mom got sick of her brining in birds.

get a water gun, whenever the cat comes close, shoot it with some nice refreshing water, it will love it, and stay the fuck away after that :p

lock the cat door from the outside and just unlock it for your cat
My cat will go in and out every other minute; there is no reasonable way for me to keep doing that.

My cat
I can honestly say I completely forgot that part. In that case, I don't know. You could always try a bucket of water, but the owner might question the wet fur. Do it when it is raining outside.

Five years ago my cat would have dealt with this problem on her own, that is the problem with time.

To keep the naihbors cat out instructions.

1.) Aquire one flashbang grenade
2.) Aquire one fishing line
3.) Tie fishing line to pin of flashbang.
4.) Tape flashbang near catdoor.
5.) tape the fishing line on the other end of the cat door, making a trip wire
6.) put large box surrounding the door so your cat dosn't set it off, let your cat out the front door instead
7.) Wait fo other cat.
8.) repeat steps as neccesary until other cat stays away.

Problem solved. :)

I remember a while ago I fell asleep downstairs and I was woken up by a cat meowing in my face. I was really scared because I didn't where it came from but it kept on meowing so I tried to coax it outside by opening up all the windows and doors.
