Knock out or Ring Out

When your playing you fave Fighting game and you have your opponent one the ropes, would you rather ring them out or back off and get the KO win.

I like you finish the fight with no question on who won, Knock out all the way.

Knock Out is preferable.

Some many times in Soul Calibur, you can have your opponent beaten to pulp, just to have them snatch victory and ring you out.

I try very hard to not do ring outs, but a win is a win and I won't hold it against my opponent.

I just like the bit where they announce my victory. All the bits before that are kinda moot. Can't expect to win if you go and hobble yourself by prefering to win one way over another.

The only fighting games I play with any regularity are Smash Bros., wherein it is impossible to get anything other than ring-outs. Although the game still calls them KOs.

In general:
Ring Outs add a second tactic you can employ. It changes the dynamics of a fight quite a bit. If you've got a problem with it you're playing the wrong game.

I prefer knocking people out but dancing on the edge of the ring can be absolutely exhilerating.

Ring outs seem a cheap victory to me. The entire round is resolved in one attack when both fighters are in a particular position, although it's more acceptable if the victim was quite dying as they had it coming to them.
This is why I like cage fights.
