I am thinking about getting one but I had a few questions. Right now I have a black berry so I have never jumped on the Apple band waggon. I use my black berry as an MP3 player and a phone so it suited my needs. Now I want an E reader so I am considering an iPad. Does anyone know if I can edit and share documents with my pc? How sturdy are these things? How is the screen glare for reading? Anythin g I should know about the format or the ability to get good books?

You all are pretty tech savy, want to help the old lady out here please?

Get a netbook. Yes, it's not going to be as handy for e-reading, but reading on any sort of electronic interface is not a pleasant experience, and I can say this from experience. You'll have to go through the iTunes interface to share documents with your PC anyway, so you might as well save yourself the effort.
Netbooks strike me as so flimsy though.

I thought the new ereaders had improved the electronic reading issue?

Thanks for the input regarding the interface.

I was afraid of that. My husband's itouch broke pretty fast and it makes me leary. The ipad sure was fund to play with at the store today though. The keyboard dock also looks like it might be almost a netbook analog...
