ok so I used to play on kongregate alot but then I got a virus on my comp and I think it might be from them since before I had to reformat when I went to it I would sometimes get redirected to things and it was the only site it happened on. But lately Ive been really tempted to go back, I still play flash on newgrounds but I miss all the achievements and crap from kongregate so really my question is has anyone else gotten any weird web stuff from kongregate, I mean being redirected to odd sites or anything?

I've never had a problem with kongregate and use it pretty regularly since I can get there while at work. I'm on that site nearly every day and have been for years. So far, no problems (besides questioning looks from co-workers when I don't minimize my browser fast enough).

That is the first time I've heard of anyone getting a virus off Kongregate. Still, just in case, get Firefox and NoScript. Then allow kongregate.com when you go there.

yeah soon as I had to reformat I uninstalled IE and am using firefox and chrome as my browsers, at least it sounds like no one else has had that trouble, suppose Ill give in and start going back to it

Hmm, I have gone to Kongregate for quite a while and never gotten a virus from them. I recommend you get Spybot as well, it might not have helped prevent what happened to you from happening again, but it certainly couldn't hurt to have.

I had spybot, and avast, Im still not sure what virus it was since none of the scans I did could detect it but I would get a pop up warning on avast like every few min saying threat detected, really I only decided reformat was the only option when instead of every few min I got it over and over constantly.

Well at least it sounds like no one else has been getting redirected so Ill try going there with chrome and hope whatever happened wasnt part of kongerate
