Well, I installed KOTOR and I was going to play through it again. The only problem is, I can't.

When I start the game and it goes to the title screen, Malak is supposed to be standing there, but he isn't. When I click on New Game, there are supposed to be Characters standing in each spot for each class, but there isn't.

After character creation, it's just a black screen. I can still hear the sound, but I can't see anything.

So, can anyone help me?

EDIT: COMPUTER
Intel [R]
Pentium [R] D CPU 2.66GHz
2.67GHz, 2.00GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension

Display Adapters
Radeon X1300/X1500

Run in old Windows compatibility mode?

I don't know... Maybe you can provide some more information about your system.

Sometimes your best bet is to uninstall it and then re-install.

If that fails get back to us.

btw it would be an idea to run the game with one core thats only if you are a core duo or more processor

assuming you have Vista, run the game in Win XP compatibility and Admin rights

I heard it has trouble running under Vista. Which OS do you use?
I'm running it with Windows XP.

I've played it before on Windows XP and it ran fine.

Did you use any mods on it? I had some mods that crashed. Your best bet after that is to reinstall it. And delete the modfiles manually out of your gamefolders. When KOTOR crashes it crashes hard.
No, I've never used mods on KOTOR or KOTOR 2.

I already tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but that didn't help.

Standard Tech Support Answer #1:
Make sure your printer has paper.

However, to be cereal for a second, pull up the list of supported videocards (should be in the manual or at the end of the README file). If your GPU isn't supported you're gonna have to use some Google-Fu to see if someone has come up with a solution. If it is supported there maybe be a hotfix if it's a wide spread problem.

Also, have you patched that mother? Both KOTOR and KOTOR2 gave me all sorts of grief unpatched.

Yeah, it's patched.

And everything is supported, except for one thing...

In the SWKotOR Configuration System Information, it says that everythings meets what is recommended except for Video, which is a Radeon X1300/X1500.

It says that Radeon 9200 or better is recommended, but I've played KOTOR and KOTOR 2 with Radeon x1300/X1500 before.

i haven't tried it yet on my old computer, but i think that in a Pentium 4, 2.80GHz, 1GoRam, intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family, i think it works fine, (if Neverwinter Nights works good(although the ventilator is going like crazy))...

Are you talking about patch v1.03. Because I already have that.

Or are you talking about a different patch?
