KOTOR - Is there a reason not to just play it on Xbox?

KOTOR 1 and 2 are like the most random ass games I've seen when it comes to running on modern systems.
I would argue with Dungeon Keeper as evidence but that's not random. Outside of the GOG versions of the series, it just plain doesn't work.

KotOR 1 is stupidly random on modern PCs. I can play it fine but a friend of mine who has the exact same system as me but with 16gb ram rather than my measly 8 can't run it.

I know Windows Vista runs it really badly and 8 just throws a dice with each and every game. I would say apart from one or two mods (which are nice but not great) there is no benefit of having it on PC over Xbox. Just be aware however there is a glitch on the Xbox version (not sure if it was patched) which makes using double bladed weapons (not dual wielding, just one sword with two blades) unbelievably over powered.

There are some pretty good mods available in fact. Though it can take a bit of digging to find them. Some content updates, but also mostly a whole bunch of neat costumes, lightsabers etc.

Also, there's cheats. Now you might dislike it, but I personally used them to make the games a little bit more interesting. Given that the enemies scale you can give yourself some more powers & levels and still have a good experience.

here you are [http://www.wsgf.org/article/star-wars-knights-old-republic] oh and here you are as well [http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic]

The only problem with this method is that it uses a cracked .exe therefore it's not possible to participate in the pod (swopers?) races.

Might be worth checking out the iPad version if you can, you get the added bonuses of mobility then as well..

I actually much preferred both Kotor and Kotor2 on Xbox. On PC is just left me feeling cold - don't know why, possibly a controller thing?
