Let's put it this way: I think George Lucas should have his hands amputated to prevent him from ever touching a camera or a keyboard again. The name the Skywalker makes me want to throw lit matches at people. But KOTOR actually made me a fan of (BioWare's) version of the Star Wars universe.

KOTOR is one of BioWare's best known games (behind Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect, I'd say), and for good reason. There's also a reason so many people are still enamored by it all these years later. It's a better edition to the Star Wars franchise than the prequel trilogy was, and the writing team on the game pulled together some of the most memorable characters gaming has ever seen. Get it.

KOTOR is now also considered "cannon" in the star wars setting.
