(sorry for the teenage sob story)I'm 14 years old. for the past five years i have been working with 3d animation, doing at least five hours a day, every single day. my life is literally video games, guitar, and school. Ive created my own versions of kratos and master chief, Ive even thrown in some code so you could interact with them(just to show off), but i just got the recent game informer, in there preview for L.A. noir, rockstar(who's making the game) said that they were filming actors and it was automatically transferring into 3d, completely eliminating the need for graphic designers. They also said it was 200 terrabytes, don't get me wrong, i'm getting the game, but part of me hates it already, did i really waste a third of my life just to have my dreams crushed?

Relax. This isn't going to become the norm. After all, you can't use this method with something that doesn't exist. Like an alien. Or a mutant. Or a mutant alien.

Well you 'wasted' a third of you life not thinking about the future of animation and motion capture...but if you enjoy it, what's the problem?

Pfft. I don't believe it, especially if it's coming from GameInformer. 3d scans are horrendously messy. It all needs to be cleaned up, same with MoCap data.

Also 200 terrabytes? Unbelievable.
