Okay, this is just getting silly. I know you want to support the community and all, but how about you get production on track for your upcoming releases?
Pro-tip: Episode 3 is never coming out.
Bet on it?
Sure, how's a Happy Meal sound?

$947.59 USD already.

This is why, all in all, I love The Internets.

For those of you who haven't read the donations tally, there's actually a $100 donation from Robin Walker (of Valve):

This is Robin Walker, from Valve. The rest of us at Valve would sure appreciate a couple of days without Erik around, so thanks for organising this!

Quick question though: if I donated more, would you buy a one-way ticket for him?

Robin.
Wow, that's hilarious.
i think my laugh box just exploded.

Oooh, not sure? Ok, but make mine a Chicken Subway. I've got to watch my figure ;)

Ha ha, this headline makes it sound like it's a huge endeavour, like he needs to be airlifted.

Come on, he's not that fat.

To which Gabe, in an about face from his seemingly anti-boycott stance, said, perhaps in humor but maybe possibly perhaps in utter and absolute seriousness:

"We are boycotting your campaign."
The more I hear about Gabe Newell, the more I like his sense of humour. Though he still needs to iron that shirt.
He needs to burn it and buy a new one

Because that's what Activision told Brutal Legend.

Once again, Valve have proved that the best method to get anything done is to make a joke out of it.

So I guess they need to hire better gag writers to release Episode 3 sometime during my lifespan.

This is one of those heart warming things that I can't really imagine occurring in any other medium. I mean, it's not like you could offer to fly the head of a film production company to your house to show them how awesome your script it. It really only works considering the way which the modding and fan communities work for videogames.

This is the coolest thing I have seen inside the gaming world in a loooong time! Goes to show that people listen even still.

I'm game, $50 donated. Now I have a question Gabe, next time I'm on my way to Seattle if I stop off in Bellevue can I get the grand tour?

Edit: Hoorah, My donation was noted. I've been mentioned briefly on the internet. My life is now complete.

What the hell? That's hilarious. I find it funny that this man seems to be one of the most interesting members of the industry, and gets so much flak and hate. But still, he really is twisting the serrated knife on this whole boycott thing isn't he?
I'm missing something...why is Valve preventing this modder from doing what he is doing?

(places fingers in ears) la la la la!

But I'm sure it's coming out, they wouldn't leave us on a cliff hanger would they...would they...tell me they wouldn't

Although to be fair my life would go on with no episode three, still be nice to see it. Perhaps he should stop jetting round the world and right some code (or what ever has to be done to make games)

Dude... Gabe just got a free flight to Brisbane for two days. How awesome is that? (Managed to raise 2500 USD, more than the estimated amount Gabe replied with. Some extra cash maybe for the lodging?)

He's being facetious. He's pretty much making light of this whole boycott episode by jokingly telling this modder that they're boycotting his campaign, and now he's off to Brisbane.
