L4D: Why is Zoey a better character than Rochelle?

Okay, so I have heard quite often from a lot of people that Rochelle is a plank of a character, and that she should be replaced with Zoey, because she is obviously a better character.

But is she?

Rochelle is meant to be a journalist I believe, but ignoring this bit of information, as a character she is, in fact, a *****. Though he's meant to be on occasion an irksome character, she's always telling Ellis to hush, and whenever Nick dies she says something along the lines of "well at least he's dressed for a funeral" (someone correct me on that because I'm certain that's not the exact words).

But just by her being a *****, she's got more depth than Zoey. The only thing I've seen people say about Zoey is that she's "a college student or something", and the only entertaining thing I've ever heard her say is "OH MY GOD! NOT BILL!", and besides that she appears personality-lite.

So why is it? Is it nostalgia? Or is it...(don't make me say it)

EDIT: I should point out that the last part wasn't supposed to imply it's because she's black, but in fact by popular opinion, less attractive on all accounts. So there.

it's because people probably hate Rochelle's voice, and, admit it, Zoey's voice was really well done. i dunno, i haven't heard Zochelle's voice in a while, so i could be wrong.

Because Zoey's more of a fantasy character.

Cute, rich college girl that likes video games and horror movies? Sweet! Smart, hard working TV producer who wouldn't give you the time of day? Not so sweet. I like Rochelle. She's a pretty good working point for a solid female video game character.

I like Zoey and all, but people hating Rochelle because she's not their ideal girl is weak.

And both Nick and Rochelle are pretty big jerks. When someone's Jockeyed, Nick will make a joke bet. When Rochelle's dead, he'll mention repopulating the Earth. :B That's pretty screwy.

Zoey is not only a girl - she is also a college chick and horror movie afficionado. Rochelle? Just an ordinary woman without anything really quirky or intresting to her character. No jokes about TV shows, even.

MOAR ZOEY NOW! I think I'm the only dude who enjoys playing her-_- she has funnier Dialogue. You do learn a TINY bit about Zoey when, in Death toll lvl 4 crescendo event she says

`I used to always like this street`

I haven't heard ANYTHING from Rochelle yet

Anyone else intrested about the new confirmed DLC where the survivors encounter each other
Will this be 8vs8, 4coms on both teams, or just a small cut scene

Although i do find that to be true, poeple would like a beautiful character over one that needs to be wearing a paper bag over their head.

Arent they the same characters just with a different skin? i dont know if L4D/2 has stats for differnent characters.

For me it's their dialogue and voices. Rochelle's high-pitched keening at the onslaught of every zombie strike is terrible. At least Zoey yelled words; "Can I have some help, guys?!", not just shrieked like a freaking harpy for ten minutes.
And of course the nostalgia plays a part in it. Rochelle also does seem far less friendly than Zoey did.

I personally hate Rochelle because I feel that the AI controlled teammates got dumber. So when I want to unwind with a quick 25 minute romp through a campaign on easy, they all really get me down. For some reason though, she is always the one to fall behind.

Rochelle has no character at all, as far as I can tell.. She's there but that's all

L4D2- Now with two scoops of black (Ughh, I feel horrible now, I'm not racist either!)
one black person is highe rpitched than me (that's HARD!)
the other is unfit... albeit the white guys wear overalls and have a HUGE forehead.

I think Valve may be racist=/

I never realy thought Rochelle as abitch, she seemed quite "motherly" when i played. She does treat Ellis like a 12 year old child, and she talks like a mother handing out apple pie when she heals you.

Is it just me?

It's because she's black and everyone's a racist biggot, happy?
In all honesty, her personality just grates on me, she never shuts up and while she does have more personality than Zoey, Zoey never got on my nerves, kind of like the special kid in class when you're at school who no-one likes or hates.
