Lack of midnight release...

So after spending 4 hours trying to find a midnight release for Killzone 2 within 20 miles of my house, I noticed that gamestores are becoming biased with what they will and wont open for.
MetalGear4 and GTA4 had minimum midnight releases in the UK whereas Halo3 had everywhere opening at ridiculous hours for buyers. I know its unfair for me to ask staff to have to work at midnight but it seems they can do it when it suits them.

Does anyone else get frustrated when they dont get a midnight release for a game they want?

By the way, I know I could have just pre-ordered online, but I like these releases for the social aspect of meeting fellow gamers in the freezing cold to discuss our excitement.

I am not fussed by midnight releases, most online stores that sell games have an option for guaranteed release date delivery anyway.

winner.

I'm not too bothered about midnight releases, I normally wait until everything is discounted before buying myself, it only hampens my playing if someone tries their hardest to fuck up the game for me by spoiling it, or if its an online multiplayer and I have the learning curve to make up while I'm getting butchered by the experts.

Although you do get blagging rights for finishing a game a year before I get my hands on it, so kudos to you :D

Lol, well we've all learnt a lot.
1) My choice of title is actually quite dirty.
2) Im the only one who likes midnight OPENING for game releases.

Naah. I know what you mean, and it is fun going to midnight... Openings. I went to the big Wii one in London's HMV. It was brilliant. Celebrities were there.

All hail Hunde Des Krieg, he will show us the way to the promised land, the land of HDR and volumetric effects.

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of threads, I shall fear no OP, for you post with me, your mouse and keyboard they comfort me.
