I find nothing wrong with her music (no wonder why my older sister loves Lady gaga!) but my parents complain about her being a bad influnce on us and i cant see why she such a good singer!

i think the reason many parents dislike her is because many of her songs are overtly sexual, add into it the fact that she makes comments such as stating she wants a foursome with the jonas brothers.

personally im not a fan. "Cherry Cherry boom boom", "mum mum muh muh" & "Rah-rah-ah-ah", these are not lyrics i care for.

Being a bad influence has more to go with it then just singing.

I mean, in her Telephone Music Video, she poisons an entire restruant's worth of people. What does that even have to do with Telephones anyway!?

I don't care for her in the least. I find her music lack-luster, the lyrics are silly and overall I just don't care about her as an artist. She is a meh artist.

Meh, I don't hate Lady GaGa, I just don't like her music, so I ignore her. As far as her being a bad influence goes, I would say that she's just like any other popstar, doing what she can to be on camera, and if that means being a bit controversial or raunchy, so what? It's nothing new in the industry, so why take too much notice of it.

Bottom line: If you like GaGa, good for you, and no, I don't think she's a bad influence on people. I'll take Metallica over her any day though.

Yay music industry guy in a Lady Gaga thread!

Anyone who complains about Lady Gaga lacking talent, being a bad influence or otherwise being anything less than a completely fine and worthy pop singer is demonstratably wrong.

* She can sing better than most pop singers and could easily go toe-to-toe with opera singers on a theatrical stage if she had to
* Yes she dresses outrageously but in pop music who doesn't - the style has a decades-long tradition of outrageous dress sense
* She is a noted philanthropist and lives a generally healthy lifestyle, unlike a lot of other artists in her field

I dislike pop music in general but I agree with this person.

I don't mind her. I quite like "Telephone" with Beyonce. As a pop artist and performer, she's pretty good. She quirky enough to stick in your mind and longevity is what any artist strives for.

I've been hearing about this lady left and right and I've never heard a single drop of her music. I guess that either means I'm woefully uninformed when it comes to musical pop culture or her entire existence revolves around people reacting to how she appears. Which as far as character goes is pretty shallow but I guess if you needed a hook "looking odd" seems like a reasonable choice rather than being a whore or being a liberal artist which is worn out territory nowadays.
