LAN games (need help)

Hey, escapists

I was just at a LAN this evening with a bunch of my friends (we have one every week) and unfortunately we've sort of run out of game to play.

I mean we all have a game we can play but nothing we can play together.

So what I'm asking is, do you know of any good games preferably more recent ones, but old are acceptable if it's a good play. For 6-9 players abouts on the PC, we're not gonna go buy consoles to play games.

Here are some guys we've already played:
Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead 2
Team Fortress 2
The Hidden: Source
Borderlands
and various other game briefly.

you may have noticed that some of these games are only 4 players, we aren't afraid to split up and play different games of the same type, but it would be nice to include everyone.

We've talked about Diablo 2 but no one really wants to start that as many of us have played through it a few times by now.

Any suggestions you have are appreciated

Starcraft.

8 players only, but so good.

Plus it's cheap, being 12 years old and all. Though if you aren't RTS fans you might want to go with something else.

Gmod is a must. As long as you don't have one of those friends who thinks it's funny to blow your crap up just before you finish building it or the person who sits in the corner building a teleporter with nuke attached to it so he can teleport it into the middle and destroy everything (both cases happened with my friends) then you'll be golden.

Edit: Also just realised you have some source games on the list which makes it better, but I think you need HL2 in order to run it.

I don't know many PC games outside of Blizzard.

I don't play lan or know any good lan games, but I went and did a quick search on the matter for you. =-D

AvP2 may be old but its one of the best multiplayer shooters around if you can get it running.
Theres a whole list of RTS games your missing out on if you wanted to give that sort of thing a go as well.

Natural Selection (Half Life mod) and Battlefield 2/2142 are great LAN games.

Defense of the Ancients, I've never played, but I always see a bunch of people playing it in the corner at a local gaming bar.
