A while back, my 'W' key on my Laptop began giving me issues, and now it's all but stopped working.

But, the previous statement had 4 'W's in it.

True, I had removed the key and cleaned around it. And, that didn't fix it. I then removed the retainer clips and am only left with the rubber(?) nipple. Manually pressing the nipple works... Sometimes.

This is really annoying, since it's literally preventing me from moving forward in 'WASD' gaming.

What model is your Laptop?

Toshiba Satellite C655.

Glossy Keyboard or Matte Keyboard?

Ummm... Wut? Matte? I tried to look up pictures of the different keyboards, so TC15... I think?

Dirt or dust may cause some kind of short circuiting in keyboards. There isn't much you can do about it other than servicing it. Is it still under warranty?
Alternatively you can just plug in a regular keyboard. Or use ESDF instead of WASD in gaming..

Yeah, there isn't any easy way to fix a keyboard...you'll either have to send it in for repair or buy a replacement and install it yourself. It's a fairly simple process that you can see here [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsuH8EzPhPY&t=0m38s]. You can pick up replacements on eBay and such for as little as $20.
