Laptop/Netbook for school?

hey guys, I am starting Sixth Form (years 12/13) of school later in the year, and I was thinking of getting a small laptop/netbook to use for studying. If anyone has any experience or advice in this, could you please recommend me something to buy and use for school and other stuff at home.

Currently I was looking at this, because I have only really heard good things about it so far, and it can be useful for other stuff as well. The only thing that bothers me is the battery life:

A few things:
> Define "other stuff". For all I know you plan on gaming.
> It has a weak hard-drive (only 320gb. Shoot for a 500 at least)
> It's a Dell. Yuck.
> Something tells me that invertible screen can easily break.
> Netbooks aren't what I'd recommend for those who study. I'd try to find a 15" or so laptop.

For your price you could probably get a really nice Aspire:

Hey, thanks for answering, I'm not sure about gaming on a netbook, I have heard that laptops aren't the best for gaming, so I assumed netbooks are the same. The reason I was looking at a netbook is because it would be easier to carry around. If I end up finding a good gaming netbook I would be happy, but it would also have to handle other stuff as well.

I currently have a 15.6" Acer Aspire but it is heavier than I would like, and old and nearly broken. So for now I will continue to just look for netbooks
