Hi. I was thinking about getting getting a new laptop, as I don't have the room for a PC, but I'm not quite sure about what kind of specs I should be looking for, which ones are good, which ones are bad, which ones are reasonable for the price, etc... I'm not very tech savvy, so I've come to the Escapist for some advice.

Any help would be much appreciated!

[sub](I realize that getting a gaming laptop would be stupidly expensive, but any suggestions on which types of intergrated graphics cards which would help me be able to play some older less taxing games would be extra helpful)[/sub]

Also, price range would be £400-£600. I may be willing to go a bit higher if it means abetter capability of playing games.

Found you a fairly good deal on a quality laptop for gaming. Not just older games, too. More modern games as well.

Thanks! Now I'm stuck between getting this or a Toshiba Satellite :/

Do you know if the intel HD 3000 integrated graphics card would be any good?

Intel graphics are the worst pieces of shit on the face of the planet. And Satellites are minimal use computers, and not worth the money.

Thanks, I figured that out. I've gone with a Samsung RF511. It's got a Nvidia Geforce GT 540M and an i5 Dual core processor. It's about £630.00. Not too much off the one you recommended. Thanks again for the suggestion. It kinda gave me a template of what I should be looking for.

That's reasonably okay for gaming. I'm going for the Asus K53SV-SX146V myself, for school and light gaming, and that has comparable specs. It only costs 572 euros as well, which is around £506.
