Laptop turned dark.

Well, I came home today after work (After a day of normal brightness) turned on my computer, left in a game. Which was still on normal brightness, closed the game and.... suddenly everything was slightly darker. Brightness settings still at full, but everything is dark.

I went on forums to search for help but everyone says that it is the backlight function or something but that aint it. Because its only 'slightly' darker. Not barely readable. But its still annoying and it makes my eyes 'very' strained. Is there any way to forcefully turn up the brightness on a laptop?

Aaand I fixed it by hitting my laptop until it went bright. Hurray for fixing stuff!

Just kidding, I restarted the computer. Should really have done that first.
