I need to buy a laptop for college next year, but I'm loath to pay an extra 100 currencies for a pre-installed operating system.
Is there any place I could purchase a new laptop minus all the software? I'm planning to use a Linux distro [probably Mint]. Also, is there a relatively easy method of making sure all the drivers and whatnot are compatible? Alternatively, does anybody ship laptops with Linux installed?
I live in Ireland, so a UK-based retailer would be preferable. Thank you.

It's also a good choice, as it compares web shop prices for the same(or similar) products. Just look for the less expensive laptops, and read their descriptions to find what you're looking for.

Computer shops will genreally sell you it without a OS if you ask for it, at which usually they reduce $100 off of it (Obv' not the full price because it costs them money) to do so. Places like DELL themself or direct from a big company Wont sell it OS'less in case you put a Pirated copy of an OS *cough cough* on it which goes against their well.... not beliefs but close enough.
