I had it done recently, TOTALLY worth it. I'll run it down for you.
Once the operation day comes you go through some basic eye checkup stuff, yada yada. Then they put these eyedrops in you that numb your eyes so you don't feel pain, everythings dandy so far. The surgery happens while you're awake and only lasts a few minutes, I was taken into a cool "sciency" looking room and put on a medical bed thing, the kind in any doctors office. Now, this is the part that freaked me out without knowing about it, but they put something in your eyes, a plastic thing, that prevents you from blinking, I was afraid that I'd blink during it, but you can't so that fear should be out the window. Now, it does kinda hurt putting it in, but it isn't that bad, and it is the absolute worst part. Then they hover the machine over you, which just looks like a big ol hunk of something, it doesn't look like a laser gun thing. Now here's a big thing, when they say laser it's not what you think, they have you stare at this big blinking light and that's all that it looks like, but it's the laser. So you stare at this blinking light for about.. lets say 2 minutes, and then they move to the next eye. Once that's done they sit you up, and boom, you're golden. Now begins the recovery, which is just taking eye drops for a couple of weeks, but the very first day of surgery your eyes will itch after. And I mean REALLY FUCKING ITCH, but you can't touch them obviously. What you do is take a nap (I fell asleep fast despite the itch) and when I woke up the itch was gone. The end
Trust me, the biggest deal about it is the whole HOLY SHIT A LASER! thing, and it's not a big deal
