Final Fantasy 4: Complete Celloection and Knights in the Nightmare.

FF4CC is great and even if The After Years isn't as good as I hear i is, FF4 alone is worth the price. Love the updated sprite art instead of that fugly 3D of the DS version, a lot more charming and easier on the eyes. Haven't played FF4 since the GBA version so it's great to revisit this classic and have a copy of my own for once. Always emulated or borrowed a friends as I never owned a copy.

And while I was picking that up I got Knights in the Nightmare because Extra Credits reminded me that it was on my "to buy" list. Funny enough I saw it at EB and it was only 20 bucks so that was an instant purchase. ALways held off on the purchase for the price to go down and I just had good timing. Came with a download voucher for Yggdra Union too so I got a free game too. Haven't played it yet as I'm holding off on it for now.
I agree 110%. I'd much rather have colorful, detailed 2D than hideous, low-res 3D any day.
It's a shame they couldn't have gone that extra mile for the PSP version and use GOOD 3d graphics like the system is capable of, unlike the DS. I would have LOVED seeing FF4 done with Dissidia's visual style which is all kinds of awesome. After seeing Cecil, Kain, and Golbez in that type of style, a full fleged remake would have been epic.

Oh well, the 2D still works great and isn't an eyesore. Aged quite well at least.

Got Portal 2 for $20, and Mortal Kombat for free.

I still refuse to pay $60 for a game and will do whatever it takes to get them at a reasonable price, including beating everyone in a MK tournament
How did you manage that? Buy them from a friend who was done with them or using the internet? I'm hesitant about dropping 60$ on Portal 2 as well, waiting until I can find it for about what you got it for.
i was given several mint condition rock band games to trade in, along with instore credit. after all that portal 2 cost me $20. i also got killzone 3 for $0, but i still haven't played it. its just who you know, having friends in the game industry and a gamefly account saves me money :)
Oh, for a moment I thought you got it with just a twenty dollar bill. As long as they weren't games you cared about, I guess it works out. I never trade my stuff in.

Fate of the World, because it was on sale, and I was vaguely interested in it even before the Extra Credit that gave a nod to it. Still havn't played it though, as Ive been playing a card game (Race for the Galaxy) and the dev commentary for Portal 2. Tucking it away for a rainy day, I have a horrible soft spot for indie games with some artistic merit.

Zelda: The Ocarina of Time for Virtual Console.
Maybe it's because I'm not blinded by nostalgia, but I prefer Wind Waker.

Just bought Dynasty Warriors 7 which I had looked 7 different locations for. I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I haven't enough time to play it seeing as I've got work tomorrow.

Tactics Ogre for psp. Just waiting for the postman to deliver it now, should be good and only cost me £12 pounds for a brand new copy of the premium edition.
That game is fun, but keep up with weapons. Oh and if you played the original, Canopus sucks compared to him then.

BUT MAKE SURE YOUR WEAPONS ARE UP TO DATE. it'll help so much in the long run.

But yeah uhm. I think Dragon age 2... and MvC:3 (same day, different time)

Thinking about AC:B

I just bought Yakuza 4, but I haven't played it yet because I can't redeem the code I got for it right now.

Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday

And I haven't had a chance to play it yet, because I'm up to my neck in grading (so the only game I have time for now is a replay of Saint's Row 2).

Magicka and Amnesia, two amazing games. I only played like 30 minutes of amnesia though, that's some scary stuff. Magicka I beat though, and it lives up to the hype.

I've got a lot of other stuff going on, so I haven't had time to work on buying games. I did get a copy of Sonic Heroes off Ebay about a week ago, though. It's a pretty cool game, although I've gained an aversion to Ryan Drummond's voice after the Tails levels in Adventure...

"Hey hey hey!" "See ya later, Tails!" "Ya made it!" "Hey hey hey!" "Hey hey hey!" "C'mon, Tails!" "Hey hey hey!" Grr...shut up, shut up, shut up!!!

I recently purchased GTA IV and the EFLC (Episodes From Liberty City) games with it as they were on sale, got both of them for £6 :D

i have to say EFLC is rapidly becoming one of my favourite games, better than GTA IV (which i had on Xbox 360, i just bought because it was in sale). it's actually made me laugh, not just a little chuckle, actually laugh, the detail is awesome, and the story lines for both of the episodes are very good, 10/10 from me.

So i want to know what is the last game you bought, and do you like it?

[small]if it's portal 2, please try and remember the game before that because I know loads of people have bought it and most people pitch a tent over it[/small]
This months purchases were Bulletstorm, Portal 2, Baynetta (19.99 bargain bin, i really wanted it since it came out but when i saw it in the bin i had no excuse), and repurchasing Alpha Protocol to give it a second chance, at $19.99 i cant complain!
