So, I've seen the original, enjoyed it (as sick as that sounds), and thought it was overall good for the time and parts of it still hold up.
I'm interested in seeing the remake, but I'm not sure if I should bother. I've been burned by this sort of thing before, even though I know the general rule is that remakes usually suck.
From what I hear the plot is basically the same, but can they make this a stand alone film with its own merits? Or will it be a pale, boring imitation of the original that I shouldn't bother with, or borrow on DVD?
Thoughts? Anyone who's seen the remake wanna give their two cents?
