So, my church does this program every year where little kids from poor families have their names written on paper Christmas ornaments. Then people from the church congregation take an ornament name off the tree, buy the kid a bunch of presents, drop them off at the church, where the presents are then delivered to the kid from "Santa."
I just picked up an ornament from the tree, and it's due in a few days. I plan on going out tomorrow, but I have no idea what to buy the kid. All I know about him is that he's a four year old boy.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: In addition to toys, I also wanted to get something practical, like a hat/glove set, or a coat, or something. Any suggestions with this, too, would be all kinds of awesome.

Anyone? I'd really appreciate any advice. I don't really have any experience with this age group, so I'm not sure what sort of stuff they like.

Uh, I don't know. Ask the boy? uh, some toy websites break toys down into gender and age category. Try that, I guess. Sorry.

A scarf is always good for winter.
As for toys, yes you could get transformers, or toy cars, or toy soldiers, or lego, lego's always good. So many things to do with lego =)
<color=white>I wish people got me lego =(

I'm not a four year old kid, and I don't know what's hip. :C

I like marbles myself. They're shiny, and nice. :D

I agree with Transformer toy. Now, what area do you live in? This is vital because if, say, you live in New York, a coat would be far more appreciated. California, maybe a few pairs of pants. Texas? Cowboy hat.
