@Stephanos132: can you please just leave me alone, I'm sure you're a very nice person but you have to understand, I have tried just living for you guys, but it is no longer enough, if you want me to keep living in misery just to keep you content then you've misunderstood how much pain I'm in, my life is forfeit, please just go.
You want to be left alone, don't post crap like this and go quietly then. You think you're the only person who's ever had a bad time of things? Pull the other one. Vast numbers of others have been through much worse, and they managed. If they can do it, so can you, so suck it up and get on with living life rather than lamenting it.
I meant YOU leave me alone, you're just making things worse.
I'm not going anywhere until you give a solemn promise you're not going to do it. If you want your last memories to be of a belligerent **** like me, you know what to do. If not, then you sit back and think about the ramifications of your actions.

nice..... all I wanted to do was say goodbye, if you want to try and guilt me then feel free, I'll shut up and leave you all alone without so much as a whisper if thats what you think is right.
You think putting your friends through the emotional wringer is right? You think causing them unnecessary mental suffering is right? Smooth idea.
FINE, i'll leave, edit out all my posts and bid you all adew, you REALLY made my last moments good.
like hell you're going anywhere yet.
while I disagree with the way both stephanos and mackheath try to convince you, I understand they are doing it for the purpose of helping you just like we were before

we understand you are in pain, and I wont start telling you you're not the first nor the last person to be, because I know you probably dont give a shit about that.
instead, Ill continoue to convince you that you dont have to forfiet your life, and I gave you an example of another way out in the french legion.
you can always contact the red-cross and ask to travel to africa to assist people there, if thats something you feel is a good choice...

my point is, there are plenty of better alternatives...

I cant tell you exactly what he feels, but I can tell you what I felt a few years ago:

emptyness in this alien world. like nothing is important (and, realy, nothing is realy important when put on the cosmic scale)...

Im sorry happy for you if you cant undersand what it could feel like, to understand that you have no real place in the world

Like I've never heard that one before...

I know all too well about the insignifance of man on the cosmic scale, but it goes both ways. By and large, the universe has no meaning in the day to day affairs of everyone. All that matters is here and now, and here and now I'm seeing another fool all too eager to throw his life away for no apparent reason. Such senseless waste should not come to pass.

exactly, what matters is the here and now... and when the here and now are fucked up, with no light in the future, why in hell would you care about the fact that you were given life?

Im just saying that in this situation, trying to make a person ashamed of his actions (or whatever it is you're trying to do) is not the best course of action (as far as I can tell at least, Im not a psychology expert so I can only say what I think is right)

Clairvoyant are we? How do you or anyone else know what's on the horizon? I'll answer for you: You don't. And if you are so utterly convinced of a dark future, why not take steps to remedy that? If our ancestors gave up as easily as you lot we wouldn't be bloody well here, so maybe we should accept their gift of tomorrow rather than frittering it away.

As for that fellow, I attacked because of the waste and the additional burden he's creating for people who could do without it. People who are working to create their future. An example he should jolly well follow.

I have to say, I smiled when I read this. this is somewhat close to my feelings about life (though mine are usually presented in a different way, but I digress).
I was not trying to convince you that the world is fucked up and there is no reason to try to live. on the contrary, I believe me need to live life in enjoyment, and regard even sadness as a blessing to be given.
I was just explaining what it could feel like to stick your mind in the hole that is called depression

Ah, I get ye now, but the analogy wasn't great, because it just made depression seem too easy to escape from, and, from what I hear, it ain't.

And if it's depression this fella has, surely he's getting help? If not, then why not?

sorry to mislead you then.

and you have to understand that "help" doesnt always actually help. sometimes it takes more then that

Im trying as hard as I can, and thats why I was trying to explain to you what was going on with him (as far as I can tell), and why being aggresive was a bad idea

Perhaps if we avoided all the cliches involved, I might've been inclined to a less direct approach. But no, we stuck to the 'you can't understand' bullshit. Well, no I can't understand fuck all unless you tell me, can I? Alas, it read the same as the many other suicide 'attempts' I've been party to, and I'm past the point of reading anything other then attention seeking into it as a result.

Plus, it pisses on my pudding that he chose to involve his friends in this now, rather than working it out with them or others. Depression or no, there's no excuse for this. If he feels he's tried hard enough, I can only say try harder and/or get assistance really, nothing ever got solved on it's own. Simple problem solving, not rocket science.

as I said, Im sorry this has happened the way it is, but your solution "try harder" isnt realistic, as its not a given that the depressed knows working harder will change anything.

as for "simple problem solving", well, I agree with you. it is capable of being simple, but we dont want the simple, easy solution...

I was about to say I fail to see how they can ignore a logical thing like that, but then again depression was never one for logic. But, really, that's all I can say. I can't guarantee it'll get better or worse. All I can say is that you won't know unless you try.
