of course it wasnt funny, a huge majority of my jokes arent funny...

and some jokes are only being said by me because it can be done, not because people would (or even could) understand them, like saying a dwarf fortress joke to a friend who never heard of it

heh, sounds kinda normal to me. I have a bad habit of making references and jokes for no reason at all, even though most people don't get them at first. And then I try to explain it and usually fail <,<
