This is a weird idea I've come up with, and I'm not sure if I can make function in RP form. If it does get the go ahead, I won't get it going till I've got the time on my hands (probably not till after my exams in June). For this reason, I do not want character sheets or the like; I want thoughts and opinions, and ultimately enough input to decide whether this will work out better as an RP or as a novel written solely by myself

Summer's come again, and everything stops. Like the schools, the universities close down under the crushing heat, and so home come all the students. They've come back in search of chance to see their old friends and revel in the season of carelessness, but somehow, it's not the same. They are becoming adults now, despite how they crave the freedom of their fading childhood, and more than that, their relationships are strained by divisions opened by the time apart, and events they struggle to recall.

And to top it all off, there was that thing. It affected everyone, but no one seems to recall it the same way, and no one wants to talk about it. But the signs are there in the way they act, and at some point things will boil over...

Firstly, I'm not going to define what happened last summer. It will be up to the players each to have their own idea of what occurred, but no one will want to come straight out with their version. the drama should stem from the arguments when non of you can agree.

You may have had, or think you had, any number of interactions or relationships with other players and NPCs, but bear in mind that they may not agree. Equally, you'll need to be aware of what other people are hinting, because things will really flourish when you being to cooperatively fabricate a past between yourselves.

The only limit I will put o it will be that there was one thing that happened, and it was big. It touched everyone in town, even if not everyone knew the whole story, and it caused people massive stresses and quarrels.

Thoughts, anyone?

My worry is that it would require a superhuman degree of cooperation/mind reading form the players, without which it may dwindle to utter failure.

Considering it? Considering it.
You have my interest for at least as long as it takes you to answer this question.
How realistic will this be?
Completely. There will be no supernatural or magical events, save the slight surrealism of people's competing versions of events.

I like real life. It doesn't always have to be about dragons or world control or intergalactic space wars, which seem to make up a lot of RP games. But I don't really play RP games so I don't have much of an opinion on the matter, but I like the idea of everyone having similar worries, but it not being like an escaped dinosaur or something.

You're right, I'll give it a go, any good current threads?

I would've pointed you in The Game of Life's direction, but it appears to be going rather slowly right now and might be on its last legs. You might be able to get in on the next iteration if you keep an eye out for it.

Anyway, Threewords, this sounds like it could be extremely interesting. However, I'm fairly certain that real life RPs are beyond me, so I'll have to be content with reading whatever becomes of this.

There's this one (at some point), and my other two Riders at the World's End [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.267607-Riders-At-The-Worlds-End?page=1] and Old Gods [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.266040-Old-Gods-Interest-thread?page=1], which are due to start pretty soon ( I can allow you a late join if you're interested...)

Then there's Time Traveling Toaster's Drifters [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.270375-Drifters-RP-Open#10413295] and this thing [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/362.270375-Drifters-RP-Open#10413295] which looks interesting but I haven't yet examined properly. It's not a good time for RPs right now, but there should be some more soon. We're expecting a masterwork from Nukey at the very least...

For the record, Game of Life might be slow but it's still going. We're just trying to figure out a way to get people posting again.

If you wanna know more about The Game of Life, which could be interesting to you, send a PM to Shapsters asking about it; he's the one in charge.

Edit: @ThreeWords: I don't think I'll be joining, sorry. This post was more to talk to revolver and LuckyClover. The major reason for me not joining is that, while the premise is interesting, I'm not a fan of ambiguities or unspecific things that have significant impact on a roleplay and its plot.

I had been a-feared of this; it's the main reason why I'm considering just writing it as a story. If it helps, you'll each know exactly hat you think, and the contradicting ideas are the fuel for the drama. But if you're not interested, I understand
