Seriously though, what is the plot of this game? I've watched three or four of these things. Is it going to be like a villainous tag team or something vs. Batman?

I think the plot goes like this, Joker escapes from custody takes over Arkham lets all the villains out, Batman goes in and cleans up.

Judging from this screenshot theres some typical deranged joker chemical experiments going on as well. Note Poisen Ivy's dialogue- when you see her she's in a pink smoke filled room, she looks a little strange and diseased (this may be art direction). She talks about the plants mutating, becoming stronger. To me this suggests the Joker is using chemicals on the inmates, possibly resulting in strange powers/mutations. This is also what he may be threatening the city with.

Yeah in the trailer didn't he say he had a bunch of bombs set up over the city?
I wonder who they are going to reveal next, two-face would be awesome.

lol did Batman just coolly grab the slithering vine & squash its "head"? I wonder if he just tossed it aside after that, which would be the ultimate in stupid as he realizes VINES DON'T HAVE HEADS while it constricts him.

Remember that one Godzilla movie where Godzilla basically kicked the butt of every monster he'd ever met in his life so far, including some he hadn't? I can't remember the name, something like "Godzilla's Revenge," maybe? Anyway, this game is starting to look like that. I doubt the villains will be particularly well-characterized given the fact that they're fitting so many into the game. Time constraints, you know.

The first thing I thought when I read the thread title, however, was this:

"Hmm... So a Batman game is going to contain one of the fanservice villains? Color me surprised!"

Yeah, not too shocking when your really think about it. You can bet Harley Quinn and maybe the Penguin's little girlfriends will also show up. And probably Batgirl, too.

This makes me wonder if the true final boss might be Bane...

Oooh this is just lovely. I saw the Joker trailer earlier but this trailer is much, much better Along with Street Fighter IV this game seems like a really good reason to go buy a (slim) PS3.

This really makes me interested in what they'll interpret Mr.Freeze or the Riddler as...

I think that this game will be awesome. At the very least, it looks to actually be TRYING to make a good Batman game instead of a middling movie cash-in. I shudder to think what would this game could have been if someone were trying to force its release alongside another Batman flick. Also, I love how they've brought back the old voice actors...

This game is shaping up to be something brilliant (and I'm not a huge fan of Batman...)
I'll watch out for this, with great interest too.
