The demo wasn't bad, I just found it kind of boring.

Mainly because I played Ace Combat 6, and I found that fun.
HAWX to me just seems like a pointless game. They could have worked on something more meaningful

So we're punishing games for having a learning curve now? While OFf Mode is a bit confusing at first, it's fairly simple to control your plane in after a few minutes of playing about, like, I dunno, using the goddamned tutorial. Then not only to do you get fly about like Maverick, you can actually see you're self doing it, and do cool things like dodge missiles, or crazy tricks that risk stalling out. My only complaint about "Off" mode is that it's impossible to select long-range targets. You can only select targets within a certain range of your plane and you'll have to switch into ON mode to target that far-off objective target. But that's still no big deal because it's two trigger taps, a Y button, and then two more trigger tabs to get back into OFF.

The only time you can't go into ON is during the tutorial mission, when you're always pointed at a drone or instructed to do some cool things. And you're flying a few kilometers in the air, so you're not going to hit anything unless you're, really, really bad.
i agree with my friend here. i hated OFF mode at first but after i got that hang of it i ended up likeing it better than ON mode.

I guess you just...suck? I really enjoyed the HAWX demo and found the controls to be pretty smooth. At most I'd maybe ask for an aiming reticule in assistance-off mode, but that besides I found it to be pretty slick. Bank 180 turns ten feet above the water to strafe a landing craft with missiles = ftw.

Having had a good go at the demo, I thought the flight sims from pre 2000 are better than Hawx, the controls are rubbish and the graphics aren't really that amazing either.

Of course it sucks, because A)Ubisoft made it, B)Its a flight simulater game thing, and C)It has a mispelled acronym.
No, it's not a flight simulator, it's a bad arcade "shoot-em-up-in-a-plane"...

P.S. Also, shites arent shit, their the 10% of the worlds Muslim population that experts say are responible for most of the worlds Islamic related terrorism.
First, I find it highly amusing that you bash the game for misspelling an acronym of all things, and have three rather silly misspellings in your post.

Second, what's with all the Ubisoft hate I'm seeing in this thread? Pretty much everything Ubisoft has done in the past decade has been critically acclaimed, except Red Steel (ugh). The Prince of Persia trilogy, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Assassin's Creed...or maybe you just don't like platformers and realistic tactical shooters, so you compensate by whining that they suck.

Are you really trying to tell me that Rainbow Six: Vegas was a "realistic tactical shooter"? You're cute.
Well then what would a realistic tactical shooter be? Please don't say Gears of War.

Skill, and challenge, should be offered by the game. Not by the Xbox controller and certainly not by some idiotic attempt to be different. I should be challenged by enemies who can outwit me once in a while, or challenged by difficult to predict and dangerous weapons (Stonehenge form Ace Combat 4 anyone?)

Being "challenged" because I can't see where the fuck I am going isn't a challenge. It's a frustration.
I'm challenged by what you ran into 4 kilometers in the bloody air. Once again, don't blame the game for your inability to play it, because everyone else is doing just fine.

I found it quite enjoyable actually. I'll admit that it annoyed me at first, but once I got the hang of it it seemed to work quite well
I concur... in fact I might pick it up.

I have never played this genre on consoles but the controls were pretty friendly compared to Too Human...

X-Plane 9 GOGOGOGO.
Seriously though, if the game has a cockpit mode, it'll at least be playable. Somewhat.

I found the demo to be unresponsive and the assistance off mode simply not fun to even look at. Ninja Gaiden does not purposely fuck up your camera angle to give you something boring to look at. I will gladly take the challenge of that game over the unresponsive and purposely boring to look at(when assistance mode is off.) HAWX.

"Everyone"?

You are starting to sound suspiciously like a fanboy Ultrajoe. You do not speak for everyone else.

To be fair, he didn't say Vegas, and all the Rainbow 6 games until (and not including) lockdown were heavily tactical. After that though, they became pretty arcade. Raven Shield was pure awesome on its highest difficulty setting.

As for HAWX, there seems to be a large gap in opinion here, so I'll try the demo and decide.
