Oh wow, surprisingly substantial update.
new biome, new friendly mobs, new devices, and double build height!
Can't wait to make silly-ridiculous high structures, but I dare not play the damn thing until my mods update.

An update on what the other guy said, Zombies will try and break down doors but are only able to actually do so on hardcore mode.Kwil said:

Me and my chums have been enjoying the jungle biomes since the prerelease. They're quite epic, but you're really strapped for iron, redstone and mob-dropped items if you stick to them too long. Can't say we've experimented with the other features yet, except for annoying each other with the cats and occasionally finding that a Skeleton dropped a bow.
Haven't found a jungle biome yet in my singleplayer map, but I am going "D'awwwwww" as I watch the three village children run around with each other.
Friends of mine have laughed at me for calling them "Beard Babies," but since the texture pack I use gave villagers beards, and the child villagers use miniature skins of the adults, that's prettymuch what they look like.

I'm annoyed by the titles of articles that this site is turning out. The title says "Laugh at the ... features", implying that this update is laughable. In truth, they simply want us to laugh at a silly video.
Well, I've already seen the video. I came here because I thought you had an objection to the features I hadn't heard before.
I wouldn't post this, but it seems to be happening more and more, and I'm tired of being "lured" into articles like this.

I must point out that the trailer for 1.2 was not released by Mojang but by the awesome guys at HaatFilms. Also, if Minecraft crashes to desktop a shortly after starting to play, check that you have the latest Java AND that you have the right Java version for your OS.
arrg i am having issues with 1.2
it runs but it freezes every few seconds almost like some kind of dance beat its like 1.2.3.freeze.1.2.3. freeze and it causes my char. to have litte sesures like doing random 130s and stuff
it looks like a framerate issue but it cant be my computer as it runs other games fine
and it only started with 1.2
i tried messing with the settings but that didnt work so its not truly framerate as reducing my view to short would of at least have an effect...
