Banning...PINBALL MACHINES?

Seriously, how stupid can the world get? It's seriously getting to singularity status.

Sorry everyone, this situation combined with the outrage over Marvel Happy Meals [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102654-McDonalds-Attacked-For-Horrifying-Marvel-Happy-Meals] has made me decide to find a new planet to live on. I'll miss you all.
No wait! Take me with you! I don't want to be here with all the stupid people anymore.

The best way to overturn a stupid law like that is for a lot of people to simultaneously and repeatedly break it. Lets get our asses to Beacon and open up some game-easies

There are various laws across England that allow you to shoot a Welshman with a Crossbow or Bow and Arrow (depending on which law) for numerous different reasons but if someone actually did this, they would go to gaol. These are retarded rules and would never be enforced so why on Earth did they bother in this situation?

Seems awfully suspicious. I'm guessing that a rival company wants to eliminate competition early before it's opening. Simple really - force them to shut down, then open yours six or seven months later when everyone has forgetten, the want for such a service has increased, and the opposition has moved on or become bankrupt.

Either that or some religious nut thinks that pinball is promoting violence in society. Not to bash the general religious community - I know most of you are great. However, when someone speaks out against them the general trend seems to be their religious, but not always of course.

Whatever the motive; it's damn stupid in my eyes. And I've never played Pinball.

Words cannot describe how stupid the entire situation is.

Reminds me of something that happened here in Portland recently: State inspectors forced a seven-year-old girl to shut down her lemonade stand because she wasn't operating with a $120 restaurant license. It's so easy for bureaucratic asshats to abuse long-forgotten laws to make peoples' lives more difficult.
That has to be a joke right? A seven year old lemonade stand? Shit i do hope that they didn't send in the SWAT team to shut down her stand...
Completely true. Although her mother did point out how fucking stupid it was, and they got a formal apology from the government and the inspectors were told to use "professional discretion" in the future. Honestly, that's the kind of thing these dumbasses in Beacon need to hear.

I... but... It... IT IS FREAKING PINBALL, YOU MASSIVE MASSIVE IDIOTS!

[sobs in the corner, incoherently]

This is what they're spending time and money on. This. THIS!

Damnit, this article makes me hate everyone, everywhere, every when. I now hate even Mary, Queen of Scots thanks to the sheer time-space bending idiocy on display here.

I was going to say "Only in America" but then I remembed I live in the UK, which can be just as bad for this kinda crap!

Wardy
luckily the UK is bad for this, but no where near as bad.

If it was EVERYBODY in the UK would of been executed 12 years ago because 12 years ago putting a stamp on a letter upside down was punishable by death. Nowadays putting a stamp on upside down only carries a life sentence.

Wait they banned PINBALL MACHINES, of all things?! My god talk about archaic, wait till they learn about a little game called Custard's Revenge, at which point they'll be forced to ban the Atari as well!

Something tells me that this is a land-grab attempt by someone on the council. I mean, the guy was allowed to set up the machines in the first place.

This is almost as retarded as something that happened in my area: the township tried to fine a Sonic 500 dollars a day for violating sign ordinances... AFTER the Sonic had been constructed specifically to accommodate those signs. Since the township requires you to send in details of buildings you plan to construct, it came off as rather fishy that the owner was allowed to erect the building in the first place.
