How much leafy greens (such as lettuce, spinach, ext) do you prefer to have in your salad as compared to all the other stuff (meat, seeds, fruit, other none leafy vegetables, ext)?

Do you prefer to have more otherwise it may not feel like a salad? Do you think lettuce is for rabbits and that's where it should stay? Do you eat meat lovers salad in the same way one might eat a meat lovers pizza? Is my entire idea of what makes a salad wrong? Would you not touch a salad with a ten foot pole?

How do you like your salad?

---------------------------------
I prefer dark greens and spinach as the base of my salad, usually a lot more compared to everything else I put on the salad, I don't like running out of leafy greens and have all the extra stuff sitting at the bottom of the bowl.

I like my salad to have a lot of crispy and varied greens (and purples). Lettuce can be lovely if it's not sad and soggy. Celery is nice pretty much any way you eat it, too. Peppers are great for adding that juiciness and crunch. Croutons are all right but not essential; I prefer a nice thick slice of spongy bread to mop up any dressing or olive oil with. A small sprinkling of tender, peppered chicken pieces is a nice complement, but a in a salad the bounty of the earth should be the centerpiece. And while we're at it, why not some m*therf*ck*ng walnuts? You can put little sultanas in there if you want. You can even put fruit in it. It's so good.

My only demand is that whoever prepares the salad goes easy on the dressing - the taste should blossom forth primarily from the ingredients.

100% green because I only like lettuce when it comes to salad... I don't even like purple lettuce.

like 80% spinach, then some sliced pepper and quartered cherry tomatoes.

no dressing, so people can add what they like, I just have a little balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt to dress it.

I really dislike greens, and most things that aren't meat. My salads are usually mostly iceberg lettuce, maybe some cucumbers, some roasted chicken slices, and some light Caesar dressing.

Most fruits and veggies taste disgusting to me :/

To be honest, I'm not a salad fan. But when I get them, I prefer to have a lot of substance. So I don't like a lot of greens.

Cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, baby corn... stuff like that. Lettuce is pure filler, I only like spinach on sandwich or cooked (Kinda weird, I know), and kale... kale is too strong in my opinion to be mixed into a salad, or anything really. Completely overpowers other vegetables.

I like pasta salad, or three bean salad, or fruit salad. No leafy greens at all.

My salad must always come separately, especially if it's Caeser... I refuse to toss it into anything else except into more salad, especially if it's Caeser... The only other time the lettuce can be mixed into anything else other than in salad is if it's part of a BLT...

Other than that, I fucking love Caeser salad! <color=white>Oh my glob! I could eat that shit all day everyday!

I like my salads red.
With blood.
And meat.

And without any greens at all. While I do like certain vegetables, lettuce and most of the other things that typically go into salads aren't really anywhere on my priority list in terms of what I eat.

I like the ratio to be somewhat balanced. About equal amounts of lettuce and other stuff. Except for when it comes to dressing; Dressing should just be a splash in comparison. And when it comes to favorite greens, I quite like spinach leaves. Why boil spinach to inedibility when it's so tasty fresh?

One of my favorite salads is with spinach leaves, goat cheese, strawberries and walnuts with some crema di balsamico. And any salad with chicken in it is a salad I'll probably enjoy. I love chicken and almost any dish with chicken in it.

Also, I don't like pasta in my salad. At all. Pasta salad is disgusting.

most of my veggies get eaten well before they reach the salad phase. I eat it all raw and unprepared most of the time. Ill often sit down to eat a bag of spinach leaves at lunchtime, does that count as salad?

Then why are you eating salad you boob? :p

OT: I like lettuce, onion, maybe tomato or croutons, and italian dressing.

I also like caesar salads. Anything else is usually weird, and more often than not way too sweet (i.e. fruits and dressings) or the texture clashes (meat or nuts).

%50 spinach or lettuce
%10 dressing (usually a nice fruit vinaigrette)
%20 other assorted veggies like cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes
%20 juicy fruits like apples, oranges and such.

I like a lot of lettuce, as long as it's crunchy, and I will absolutely fuck that salad's shit up with tomatoes. Beyond that, it really just depends on what I have lying around.

I generally put quite a lot of leafy greens in, otherwise it doesn't feel like a proper salad. The only thing that really turns up a lot in salads that I don't like are raw tomatoes, so when I make myself a Greek salad I use sundried ones or roast/fry some. Fried veg like butternut squashes, onions and potatoes are awesome in salads, I'm pretty game for putting in any old shit I've got knocking around though.
