League of Legends' Newest Champion is Jinx, The Loose Cannon

Kind of disappointed she's another ADC. I was hoping for a range bruiser type or maybe a gun wielding mage. If her AP ratios are good enough I'll still get her for the occasional odd Mid game since I despise playing ADC.

There aren't a lot of ADCs in the game so I can understand wanting more but releasing 3 (quinn, lucian and now her) seems excessive. Suppose it's to make up for Lucian being so underwhelming.

Not that I disagree about a run of ADs (where my mages at), but Quinn seems to have shaped up to be more of a melee bruiser in disguise then an AD carry. She's not that great in the current meta as a marksman, but does surprisingly well solo top in the right hands.

This is also after Vi, Zac, and Thresh. All three are strong in the jungle (Zac especially is top tier), and Thresh (who can do well in almost every role) is near perma banned support due to his utility.

I know I should recognize that look from some movie, but I don't. Anyone knows where that's from?

So today I noticed in my subscriptions box, a video called "Jinx ability preview" and went to check it out. Looked pretty interesting, nothing all that revolutionary. But then, I did the mistake I seem to repeat too often, and checked out the comments section. And to my surprise, the most voted up -comment was by far: "no boobs :<" and I immediately remembered why I hate the LoL community so much. Still played a single game today with my Golden Alistar, I mean, why wouldn't you?

Jinx isn't limited to being a DC name, so that means jack squat. The character is a painfully obvious reference to the comic book version if Tank Girl, right down to her basic design and choice of weaponry. DC has absolutely nothing to do with the character, in design or name.

I do want a future skin of hers to be something akin to Deathstroke though. She has all this weaponry, it'd look pretty awesome.

Oh no the ladies in league don't wear armor...would be a great complaint if it weren't for the fact that most of the males in league aren't wearing armor either. Seriously, look through the list of champs the only ones wearing full armor or a good chunk of armor are the champs (male and female) from Demica; followed by low/moderate armor from Noxus, pretty much every other hero has jack for armor whether they are male or female.

It's less about the armor and more about how appropriate it is for a character, too. I don't think anyone imagined Jinx wearing plate mail.

I've personally come to be less mad about Riot female champion design as they've grown up as a company. It still happens every now and then, obviously, but meh. It's a drop in a bucket of an industry that's filled with oceans and rivers of tits the size of small orbital objects.

She looks really interesting, and simple enough for someone like me to play acceptably. Root on a carry is insane, the splash damage weapon looks good for wave clear and might even make her able to roam a bit, and the massive movement speed bonuses seem great for chase-and-cleanup. Looking forward to release.

Ha, that wanted poster. "Forgery of Official Wanted Posters" at the end. Riot has quite a good sense of humour at least.

Never really got why people are so judgemental on Riot on girls clothing design, especially this one. She's supposed to be an insane sociopath with a penchant for wanton destruction. Obviously she should be wearing appropriate combat gear not whatever the fuck crazy shit she is there >.>

People forget all the females who aren't sexualised in the slightest (base skins anyway.) Diana, Leona, Kayle, Vi, Vayne and god forbid Lissandra. I don't think you could even Rule 34 Lissandra convincingly... All off the top of my head. Oh and Elise. Anyone arguing otherwise must remember she's a giant fuck off spider and the slightly attractive human form is bait of the highest order.

I like how all Jinx's moves end with !. Super Mega Death Rocket! is the best name I have seen for ages. She's definitely the most interesting character released for quite a while. I've always liked the Piltover related characters. Shame Caitlyn is one of the worst AD Carries at the moment. Vi is still high tier though, always will be if Assault and Battery stays the same mechanically. Fed carry? HA! Out of my way scum. I have someone to beat down.

DO NOT "rework" that Riot. We need some more unique, fun and useful ults in the fucking game.

I think a more appropriate argument on character design would be "Does what the character's clothing choice fit/match with the character theme/personality?" rather than "Is the character wearing realistically effective armor?"

The first argument would be used for characters that have a designed or set personality. The developer has an idea for the character's background, average behavior and personality. The character's actions and choices (outside of player choices) should fit and feel consistent.

The second argument would be viable when discussing characters in a game with character customization, such as MMOs and some RPGs where the lack of realistic armor for a player generated character might not fit with the player's idea of a personality for their user generated character.
